RL Guide Sales (not game related)

I think it would be a wise decision to ban the sale of guides that are not game related. Most of them turn out to be scams anyway. I mean, if you could make 100 dollars a day with very
little work, there generally has to be an exploit involved, right? Game related exploits are trivial, whereas financial exploits for capital gain are legal matters.

Let's take a look at a few situations.

    Example 1

    A. If a guide for a Runescape RWT transfer method is leaked, the method is usually eventually patched. Common sense, the less people that know, the less likely that it will be patched.

    B. Seller A is selling a guide that claims to earn 100 USD a day with little to no work. He is selling the guide for 5 USD. Would it not be more profitable to continue the use of the method
to earn 100 USD a day instead of selling short for an estimate of around 50 USD earned over the course of a week, which will eventually get his exploit (if it even works to his claims.)
    "patched"?

    Example 2

    http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=811891
Thread title: [PayPal] Make up to $200+ a day! REFUND if it doesn't work!
I have underlined sections that I will be addressing. All too often this is the case with real life guide sales. The seller has never even tried the method that they are selling, but are still making
claims of what the guide can achieve. It is also notable to include that the original seller mentioned the guide was in no way illegal, but after a mod attempted to verify it, it was an ebay
scamming method, which is illegal, and would incur more legal fees than the assets obtained by the guide "method".

Why waste moderator resources in sorting out guide sales? Does that seem like a good use of their time?

    Example 3
    http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?p=6292978#post6292978
Thread title: Thegoodguy1 Money making guide $80-$800+ a Week
I have removed the URL to the buy it now button as this user is now banned, but this is the stereotypical guide seller. A new user with minimal meaningful posts who simply comes onto the site
to sell a subpar guide that he claims "pisses excellence" and then gets banned.

Guide sales seems to be drawing quite a few new users, but is this the kind of user Sythe.org wants?

    Example 4

    http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=808675
Thread title: 100-200+ Dollars a Day Guide Almost no work!! NO SHARECASH/Surveys!!
This really makes me question to what standards real life guide selling is being held. A theory is just what it is, a statement that is not yet proven. At the very least, if real life guide sales are not
restricted, then perhaps a sticky should be released to specifically state what is and what is not allowed, and the proper procedure for verification. This should not be left to arbitrary conclusion.

I would appreciate your feedback on this issue, as I have only made an attack and not a defense for guide sales. I would like to hear the opinions of some actual real life guide sellers, but won't hold my breath.

You're right. The section was never intended for any of this in the first place. It is called Runescape Guides for a reason. I'll go and close the posts.

Some of the guide sales take place in the Non-Virtual item sales section as well, and I've seen confusion in the moderators in that area, stating they didn't know if that was the right section for them, or even if there was an official section for them. Some guides even get closed under terms of "wrong section".

An official statement on the matter would be great, of course this opens up caucus of whether a section should be created for them, or their sale should be discontinued permanently.

Would be nice if Sythe.org took a stance on this, seeing as how it's kind of up in the air.

On which point? Worthless responses have no place here, and judging by the fact that most of your posts are either "agreed" or "free bump", I'd kindly ask that you continue your quest for increased post count elsewhere.

Within your 3 day stay here you bought some guides?
Did you buy them on a different account?
    What were the guides for?

Perhaps you would be willing to defend the sale of "real life" guides?

What wrong with them? And just so you know. Not all money guides are bugs and glitchs that can get patched.

Valid point, unfortunately the few that you speak of seem to be scarce and I am most positive that anything that claims to compete with a real job has severe limits or utilizes some sort of exploit.

The main argument to your point might be inspecting whether or not the human resources required to sift through all of those guides to weed out the bad seeds is really worth it or not.

Another notable option, but why is it beneficial to Sythe.org to allow this kind of sale considering the type of member it seems to draw in? Not trying to be aggressive, just looking for a different perspective.
