Is this true (Please Help)

So I bought an account account off of TT_Owner and He sent me the details to the account yesterday, and I wanted to make sure that the details worked so I tried recovering the account with my recovery questions and the details he gave me, but the account ended up being locked. So did I cause this, or could someone else have been trying to recover the account? He told me it was because I tried recovering the account after one day, so I'm not sure so I'm asking you guys. I'm not accusing him of anything, just asking, he is currently trying unlock the account. Do you guys think he will be successful even though he said he is not the original owner of the account but has had the account for a good amount of time

 

He probably will be. His account is probably being watched or something and the change of IP locked it. This happened to me once when I was doing a clue for someone. If he doesn't log on anymore you will probably be fine.

 

I don't think they lock accounts solely by sudden IP changes.

 

they lock accounts when more than 1 ip are trying to recover it, trust me. he was most likely trying to recover it back :/

 

Hm, well from my past experiences, chances are, Jagex just detected a sudden switch in IP addresses logging in the account.

Trust me, it happens a lot. I'm not trying to prove him innocent but I'm just saying, don't jump into any sudden conclusions. If he is trying to unlock the account for you, most likely he is innocent.

Just wait it out and see if he can successfully unlock it. Keep us informed.

 

T_T Owner is most likely trying to recover it from a different IP than you. Ergo, locked account.

 

It could be because you are try to recover it from a diferent ip.

 

I sold an account on Sythe which I had created, the person I sold it to did the exact same thing though without it causing the account to be Locked. It's most likely because another IP/Computer has tried to recover the account at the same time, or even recently, not because you tried to recover it one day after purchase..

 

It usually happens when they've been watching the account. Think of it this way:

For 2 years, I've logged on with a japanese IP. But one day, I suddenly try and recover the account from a USA IP. Don't you think that would raise a few red flags?

I think you should ask him to help you recover it. Make sure you take pictures and keep us informed.

 

I just realised the reason the account is locked is this: I am at my cousins house and I bought the account at my house, I got the details the next day while at my cousins, so I Rechanged the password for the 2nd time at my cousins, and tried to recover it at my cousins... thats most likely why it got locked... not because of the previous owners.,

 

I go from house to house all the time, I think your account only gets locked if you go to a different county.

 

I know but it went from UK (previous owner) to my house/ip to my cousins house/IP where I changed password and tried to recover it, that seems a little suspicious.

 

I would say the only way Is if TT Owned Got it from hes Ip, Other wise I don't think you can.

 

My skiller got locked for the same thing i was taking off recovs to sell and it got locked idk why, i was original owner too

 

My account got locked when i was trying to delete the recovery questions.
If you guys actually ask jagex on the forums it's because you've supplied enough but not enough details to recover it, So jagex lock it until you can supply enough information that you are the account owner.
