RS is not Turning into WoW

And it never will. It bears almost no similarities to WoW and the developers have done nothing to move it closer. Adding a 0 onto the end of the hits does not mean it is turning into WoW. Adding dungeons does not mean it is turning into WoW. Anybody who has ever played WoW knows that the games are completely different. 10 year olds who have never played WoW need to stop making this comparison, it is ignorant and foolish.

I think that idea came more from the fact that jagex staff plays wow. But your right runescape will never get within even the slightest resemblance to wow.

Very true, i totally agree. Most of the time on Rs forums people complain for the sake of complaining. If there isnt an update one week they complain. If the update isnt exactly what they expected they complain even more. I don't think it is wow inspired, that is until jagex introduces mounts =P

 

Lol,trust me if RS is copying off wow,wow is copying off of EverQuest...(Whenever WoW came out,eq died literally. They share very similiar "things" IMO)
Though,what made me really quit runescape for wow is when jagex started turning "money-hungry" hell,they even made the rs homepage bigger so they could have bigger ads...

 

They're a company, of course they are money hungry. Jagex isn't some kind of charity.

 

you guys are fucktards runescape has copyed everything from wow and ive played since classic so dont try and tell me im a retarded 10 year old. It all went downhill when staking and pc got nerfed. Its been getting more like wow ever since to make up for fagex taking out the only good things on the game.

 

I don't think it has the capacity to turn into WoW, but I do believe they "share" ideas with WoW. WoW is an entirely different game, yeah, I know cause I played, but RuneScape is trying to appeal to those who quit or taking a break from WoW, and those who can't understand a game like WoW.

I've played both WoW and RS for a long time and have to disagree with you. Take two of the most recent and controversial updates.

"Dungeoneering" (not even a word, by the way) - Complete rip-off of PvE in WoW.

Constitution - Give me a good reason as to why this had to be updated. They ripped off a broad range of MMO's with this one. Part of what gave RS it's uniqueness was the fact that you hit so low. The scaled hitpoints and damage follows suit with every other MMO out there. I wouldn't be surprised if they scaled it another 10x in the future.

 

i disagree, ive played both wow and rs and they coppied the pvp worlds from wow the constituion (aka bigger health)
dungeoneering is a big rip off from wow also

 

Thanks for those hard-hitting facts.

1-) Most games have higher hits, it was not related to WoW.
2-) This was a feature most likely influenced by WoW, but does not change the gameplay.
3-) Many games have had auction houses, and Runescape's GE has completely different mechanics than WoW's AH.
4-) I am yet to try dungeoneering, but from what I have heard the only thing it shares is that you go into a dungeon with a group. Many games have done this before, and the mechanics of fighting in Runescape are still the same when in a dungeon, whereas in WoW you have to assume a set role when running a dungeon (healer, tank, dps). You must also remember that while dungeons are a small subset of the PvE content available in RS, they are the core of PvE in WoW. As dungeoneering does not play nearly the same role in RS as in WoW, and has vastly different mechanics, it doesn't bring the gameplay notably closer to WoW in my opinion.

If you had ever played WoW you would know that there is nothing resembling PvP worlds.

Right, and once people realize they're shaping their game into other MMOs they may choose those MMOs over RuneScape. (Fiesta, Last Chaos, Guild Wars, World of Warcraft). I think it'd be safer to keep their game as it is.
