Ranks

This is as much as a question as a suggestion. Is the an official list of all Sythe approved ranks? If so, should/could this be a sticky with supporting details? If not, what are the requirements to obtain and/or what do they represent? Thanks

PS.. Also hoping to see the "Bonded Donation" rank which I feel was an excellent idea by Matt. We have a long history of scams tied to people working Sythe donations. I feel a member should secure a solid history of MMing donations and maintaining funds with Matt to qualify.

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for.. So the question is, what qualifies a person for a special rank such as "Highly Trusted"? What is a "Cracker Head" and a "Zombie"? My point is we all see these ranks each and every day yet how many of us know what they mean?

 

Unfortunately those kind of ranks and decisions are made by Administrators and given with their own personal reasoning... whether the person is trusted or deserving of the rank is solely up to them.

Some ranks are made specifically and purely for one user that has a personal and close relationship with the Administrator(s), such as Cheetah.
Crackerhead has had multiple recipients, and is given out to people that Admins see fit. I believe the most recent receiver of the rank was Bring Me The Horizon, and he got it from Matthew for helping him out with a matter.
As for all the other personal ranks, they're just for fun.... they can't be achieved really.

 

So in short there nothing but "eye candy" that serve no specific purpose.. okay, that I can understand

And yea, that's pretty much it. 'Highly respected' and 'Highly Trusted' are probably the most prominent non-staff ranks, and aren't given out lightly.

 

That is a great idea from Matthew. I will hopefully be donating myself soon, and I (like many other members I'm sure) will want to be able to trust that their money is safe, and some members may be hesitant to Donate now due to the recent events that have taken place (BMTH).
Although, receiving the "Highly Trusted" rank could suffice? Nonetheless, something to distinguish those that are trusted within that donation "trade" would be good.

 

The ability of who to trust is a big concern these days.. I actually have people back out of a simple $10 donation. Matt's focus I think was to work perhaps an idea where a member who is MMing donations would be required to have history as well as cash already with Matt to secure donations he was collecting. We shall see..

 

Both of those ranks require great amounts of respect and trust and there really is no way to try and get them and very few people will ever get them.

Most of the rest are just fun ranks.

 

I believe there should be ranks for each section of the forum. For example what I Specialize in is training. As it is a big section there should be ranks added, instead of having to just keep track of your Vouches to show that you are a legitimate trainer/user within the blackmarket. Just a suggestion

So many fun ranks but not many people have it. Basically, all the people who have it are either inactive or staff. Oh well, I'm not complaining.

Although, it might be good to know approximately how many vouches we need to gain the highly trusted rank lol.

 

With the exception of Spyike, I highly doubt anyone in this thread will get a highly trusted rank. It is not a matter of how many vouches you have, as vouches are not plausable way of establishing trust. It take history of altruistic, noble, and consistent actions to establish a person as trusted.

I think Spyike is deserving of some sort of donation affiliated rank which shows his good consistent character in dealing with the monies of others.

What's the relevance of MMing a donation as a opposed to a trade? A middle man could just as easily scam virtual trade as a donation. I don't see the need for a special rank for doing donations.

Yet he takes vouches for donations. The only thing that truley makes Spyike stand out in the members offering the donation service is the fact that he has enough spare cash to let Matthew hold. So, I say no to adding more ranks.

 

I feel there is a difference.. What are the odds of me scamming a $25 donation when Matt is sitting on $1K cash that belongs to me? I feel a "bonded" donation rank is an idea to insure donations reach Sythe..
