Regarding 1227's Ban

After reading the correspondence between 1227 and Penn, it seems somewhat irrational and unfair that 1227 is still banned. As very clearly stated in the scammer section, chat logs are not proof. From my understanding, it seems as though that is the main piece of evidence that merits the ban. If such is the case, why is it considered a valid piece of info in this case, especially when the fact that the evidence is coming from a banned Sythe member?

Additionally, how can one prove that 1227 is the one who recovered the account? The buyer of the account could have done a number of different things with it, including scam with it, which could have led to it being recovered/hacked/locked etc. Even if such were not the case, there is no way to prove that 1227 had involvement.

The last thing I would like to point out is the context of the issue. 1227 has over 200 vouches. he has been entrusted with $1000's of dollars during his various MMs. Why would he be so foolish as to scam an RS account worth a measly $40? Despite how some people may or may not feel about him, I believe his previous history in his trades and MM's should be taken into consideration, especially when the damning evidence against him is shaky.

Penn has handled the situation in a very respectful manner, which is admirable. But I still think the case should be looked at more closely by he and other Sythe staff before so quickly reaching a conclusive decision.

*on a side note, I spoke with 1227 about the ban evader accusation. I know nothing about that, and he claims he does not either. I know nothing about the matter, so this post is simply a critique of him being banned on the basis of accusations that he recovered an RS account which he sold*

I spoke with him once, and he's a dick imo. Leave him banned.

 

But the thing is, there doesnt seem to be any hard evidence pointing to that. And especially since the evidence is shaky, and comes from a banned user, one would assume that the benefit of the doubt would be given to the member a solid trading history rather than the banned user?

Regardless of peoples sentiments towards him, this still seems a bit unfair.

 

Sythe staff should unban him. It's really unfair -.-

 

I personally find the chat logs sketchy, not to mention they aren't accepted when 'real scammers' are accused.

I would not be surprised if the 'ban evading' account was one off his proxied IPs for his disputes.

I've had my personal issues with 1227, which I think we have moved past, but regardless this ban seems a bit sketchy to be honest.

 

Just b ecause he is a dick doesn't mean he is warranted a ban >.>

Yeah. It really doesn't pertain to something worthy of a ban. Sorry for the terrible grammar prior to my edit, I'm on my phone. It just sucks that he doesn't have chatlogs himself.
