No. Even though that ranged level is nice, it contributed to your over all combat levels. So did the magic level. Had you left range and mage at 1, you would have been a pure. And Eric, you're wrong. A pure is 40 attack (not that 60 bullshit) max strength, ONE defense, ONE range, ONE mage, One prayer. Anything other than that is NOT A PURE.

Pures where first made back in classic yrs ago. u was classed as a pure for having 1 pray, 1 magic hence meaning no impure forces..

 

I know what a pure is, and how they started. I played Rs classic when it started.....personally I know ranged is "kinda sorta" allowed, but I still say it ruins a pure.

I think you're wrong about zerkers.
Getting 45 defense doesn't mean you can't pk. It just means that you're willing to sacrifice combat levels for better gear.
Ok, so you're a level 78 pure with 60 attack, 99 strength.
You're fighting a zerker, 70 attack, 90 strength.
Not only will he hit more often then you, he can hit just as well because he has rune defender/barrows gloves/zerker helm.
Add in the fact that he has defence to keep you from hitting, and BAM.
Pure down.

PS, I agree to an extent. Instead of calling yourself a "Zerker Pure", I prefer to just call them a Zerker.
Same with "Tank Pures", "Ini Pures", and "Range Pures".
I just call them Tanks, Ini's, and Rangers.

As I recall, most pures in RSC had 31 prayer....but you say pures have 1 prayer? Also theres a reason why no one isn't 40 attack 99 strength anymore and they raised magic and range and defence because its better. You obviously can't pk for shit because your so pissed that people got defence and other stats up so you come here and call other people retarded for disagreeing with you. Zerk, the argument isn't what's "better". It's about the defining of the term pure. Also, those "pures" in RSC WERE NOT PURES because of that 31 prayer. Yes, I can PK FYI. I haven't played RS in years though, so no, I DON'T pk. All those you listed were good "hybrids". None of them were pures though. A zerker/barrows pure IS NOT A PURE based on the actual term of the word. Now you're as bad as my 11 year old brother....incorrectly using words then saying he can if he wants. It still doesn't justify that it's WRONG. And yes, I CAN'T prove that the first pure had THOSE specific stats, BUT obviously the term PURE came from the first person to get attack to some degree past 1, and very high strength. Maybe if you stopped arguing and thought about your counter-points, you'd realize you can't win this fight. Also like you just said, the term PURE came from getting attack past 1 and very high strength. the term ZERKER PURE comes from having 45 defence high strength and high attack. zerker pures are BASED OFF of your definition of pures.

 

Are you mentally retarded? The attack IS NOT NEEDED to be pure. That's just something that was always associated with it. When I made my first pure I left it at 1 attack and got to 60 strength. Sure, it took forfuckingever to get there, and I almost never killed anything, but I was a pure in its literal sense.

 

The more rs gets updated the more useless 40 attack 99 str pures are in p2p atleast. A old pure wouldnt stand a chance in p2p wild anymore.

so are you saying that 40 attack 99 strength 99 hitpoints maxed out at about 70 combat, with 1 prayer.. it could still be a pure IF you soulwared the zeals to get from 1-94 magic and range and thus not affect the combat level (remaining at 70).. WOULD YOU CALL THAT A PURE? it didnt contribute to the max level.. so what would u say?

 

A pure is purely one combat skill. The other combat skills exist but the focus is purely on the single skill.

 

A pure is any account that can PK effectively. Is that hard to get through your thick skull? In the future, we'll be seeing more varieties of pures and more old-school whiners like you. Maybe a combination of 80 Attack, 60 Strength, 35 Defence. But that's just a guess, no one can tell.

 

Well just check a combat level calculator, if you have 1 ranged and high strength/attack/magic then it takes a lot of ranged levels for you to gain a combat level. However you should take HP levels into account

 

They are pures, because your stats are based purely on a certain skill, for example Berserker Pures are the SAME as 1 Def Pures except they preferr the 45 Def over the the 1 Def. As for tanks, I don't call them pure, I just say tanks. Also I think Berserker's have been around since "Pure" starting showing up, some guy decided he wanted better Strength + and better def. It makes sense, if your going to complain about it, then go own them, but thats not likely because 1 def pure are only good against low def players. Don't get me wrong, I've been pking since 2002-Present on/off so I know whats going on
