First Time Seller Questions.

I'm planning on selling or trading my current Runescape acount for money or a WoW acount. I have never sold or bought an acount or even gold for ethier game and I am quite nervous. What would the proper way to sell my acount be? Also how can I tell if a buyer is legit and it how should I be talking to this person over the phone etc..?

Also I was wondering about how much money my acount was worth.
Around a 1250 Total Level
Blue Halloween Mask
1.9m gp
93 Woodcutting
80 Fletching
70 Magic
A Decent sized house (51 Construction)
Holiday Items Include Skele Costume, Pumpkin Head, Grimp Reaper Hood, Chicken Suit, Witch Costume, and the Santa Costume.

Also my Recovery's are set which can be a problem but they were set in 2006

If there is anything else you would like to know to judge the worth of my acount please let me know, and if there are any other tips you have that would be awesome.

I'll keep what you said in mind but I would like a few other comments as well.

 

Proper way to sell it -

Post it in the correct section in the runescape black market section.

Legit Buyers -

There are a couple things to tell the legitimicy of a buyer...

1) Vouches (Most important)
2) Post count (Not needed to show trust, however it helps)
3) Join date (Usually the older members are more reputable, unless they have no vouches, etc)

Also, vouches really don't mean as much if they are all from low-value trades.

Also check if they are ban evaders etc.

I've also read a bit about Middle Men.

I'm guessing both parties forward there information to this person and he does the actual transaction to avoid the whole going first thing. If so I would definatly like to use one to keep everything safe.

 

Yes, that's what a MM/OMM does. However, if the other person is way more trusted than you, there is no use for a MM then.

Do people often use Voice chat programs such as Ventrillo? I know personaly I would rather talk to my buyer then type.

I'm also planning on lending my mask a few times before I sell my acount just to get my name out there and get a few vouches of my own.

 

Some people may agree to Vent but i know some who are uncomfortable. Yeah, lending your mask out for free works, also makes people more willing to trade with you.

To sell it, you should post in the black market forums with picture of no bank pin, stats, total wealth(including holidays), no email etc. Try to remove the recovs before you post. Also, when you take a screenshot, make sure you type your sythe name in the chat box but do not press enter. This is to show people that you are the owner of the account.

Im trying to sell an account too, and from personal experience I would say using an active OMM is the safest way. Alot of trusted people on here turn out to be scammers etc etc, so use an OMM and get them to PM you on sythe so they are not an imposter! good luck!

Also, google buyers email address beforehand to check if they are dodgy. Don't rush into trades because your desperate, like I have, because most often if it sounds too good to be true on here then its probs a scam.
