Members that are legit will support, members that are questionable will flame this post. It is time Sythe/members assist/play an active role in holding scammers accountable for their actions. People there is a process other than petty threats/flaming to seek justice. How many of these scammers would steal/shoplift a candy bar from a store? The fact is that 50-cent candy bar will land them in a world of pain if caught. However, they feel safe conducting this type of activity here? Bullshit.. An example is sitting before us which we have more than enough info to proceed. I say, show this scammer and perhaps the x-mod scammer these actions are no longer going to be tolerated.

I agree. Can't we ask all the members who donated to chargeback? We could get something back at least.

Then we can take legal action and nail this fucker. I cannot tolerate scammers any more. They think that because it is the internet, we can't find them. Prove them wrong.

I'm pretty sure stealing over $200 is considered Grand Theft, honestly if I was to scam I would've done my homework and known this fact. He can face some serious problems, especially since the US government cracks down hard on cybercrimes considering they are so hard to track and convict, when they find someone they ass-rape the convicted man hard.

I feel there is a strong need for a guide to be developed that serves to set requirements prior to a purchase/trade. This guide is should be written to recommend preferred methods of payment to support in tracking and legal follow-up. We have to operate smarter members. Although scammers will still operate here, send one of them to the fires of hell in a legal setting and I guarantee it will have an impact on the others.

It makes sense. This community has been plagued by stupid members, I'm sorry to say. The ones that go "waaaaa i've been scammed" every single fucking day. If they read guides on how to not get scammed, I doubt they'd get scammed.

Well are you going to write the guide?

Set these two scammers on fire and we will use the experience of dealing with them to support the steps this guide should reflect/recommend. We need to walk the lessons learned in order to put something together that has weight. As the owner of a corporation, I have at my disposal and attorney that would provide advice and assist. Are we talking smack here or are we going to put together the info required? I'll expend $5k to kick off the example.. I need someone to consolidate the members/facts. The hard part, we need support from Sythe as they have info the will support the theft.

I doubt his mother wouldn't refund everyone if she was provided enough info on this little 'incident'. And even if she didn't, point proven we could nail them pretty hard.

I say skip the parents/mother all together. Consolidate the info and appoint someone to post an official compliant here on Sythe with a response required in 48-hours. If the scammer(s) fail to respond, we go forward with the legal complaint that requires a legal response. Once this step is taken, there will be no more talking here on Sythe with the individual.

    Hey, OP here.

The sad part is, the money won't be coming from the little smartass, it will be coming from his parents. I would try to contact his mother first and explain all of this, and ask her to check her sons PayPal. If he denys her access, she will know something is up and punish him. She will most likely have him eventually show him the paypal, and we can have his mother look at his past transactions as proof. Such as Names, E-Mails, amount sent. This will be enough evidence from our community to bring up a possible threat. He gives the money he stole back, or he/parents get heavily fined. I would hate for us to fine his parents, but it's the little bastards doing that brought it to this.

If Finn is in fact writing a letter, then let him deal with it. While legal recourse may sound fun and satisfying personally, it has a lower probability of actually getting anyone their money back, or of doing anything productive whatsoever. If she's like most women, BMTH's mother will be embarrassed for him, and will probably force him to repay it. That is what many traders on this site do when they get scammed, and it works quite often.

If that doesn't work, then sure, try the police. But, I still think that should be the fallback.

OP although I understand where you're coming from, I view this a little different. The two people we are focused on are actually not the end-state of this action. I'm after the ones that are sitting back wondering what will come of this. The future scammers are my goal as this investment will make them think twice and establish a guide for our legit members. I would refer you to my Grump avatar, it is time to stop being nice..

Sin quoted me.. Sweet! Very recently an active Sythe Mod posted that if ever someone called his house to raise the issue of his kid stealing he would laugh and hang up the phone.. I support showing him and others we will skip the nice part and go for the neck right away.

I looked on Paypal, and his name there was Jordan Rago. Doubt it's his real name, though.

If you have information about where he lives, it's going to be easy to catch him. Spyike, one question. Why are you so desperate to catch these scammers? I'm not against it, but there aren't many adults who would even bother with Sythe.

I'm here and it impacts prices as well as people I have a game/business connection with.. Members/Mods are requesting help as they're not able to reach out, where as I can. Sort of lending a hand to those that are in need.

What happens if you ring his father/mother and he/she just hangs up the phone on you, or ignores and letters sent to them like finn has suppose to sent?

Even more how do you know it's really his address, the scammer could have just made it up.
