It's your section. If you feel it would help, by all means, go ahead and make it a requirement/sticky.

You, and the other market mods are the bosses of that section. Talk it over, I'm sure they'll see it reasonable.

 

To be honest, I think it should be for everything to do with Runescape..

• Defenders
• Fire Capes
• Torsos
• Etc
• Etc..

 

Well I mean I guess I just wanted to see what other members think.

 

Of course, that would make it much more reliable in there. Obviously if you can do those services, then you should be able to show that you can.

 

If your starting a firecaping/defender service you must have done them before so there's no reason not too.

How do you make a thread if must have one proof? I mean, wouldn't you need the thread originally, to get the one proof? In theory, I could pull my firecape and stand at the cave exit and claim I just beat it.

 

You need to be inside the caves.

 

I'm fairly sure that some of the pictures of people doing capes are outside the cave, but regardless, regarding defenders, that's even easier to fake.

Withdraw Addy Defender, go upstairs, Drop Rune Defender on a pile of bones.

 

If you see one out of the caves, report it and I will close the thread.

As for the defenders, yeah it's easy to fake but we still need pictures regardless.

I can't quite remember, but aren't defenders extremely easy to get? As I recall, it's more an issue of time than anything, so showing proof of a defender doesn't really mean that much.

The reason the firecape requirement was added was presumably because it requires some degree of skill to do, and people should know their supplies are not being wasted by someone who has no idea what they're doing, or who only plans to steal it.

 

Well it depends on what kind of defender they are offering. But in essence I only wanted this to prevent less scams to happen.

 

As in warrior guild defenders?

Someone who has never done a defender before could still do one legitimately, without much trouble. The fact that they're so easy to get means that if you require proof of a defender, it will only inconvenience a dedicated scammer by an hour or so.

With firecapes, the point is to rule out a few people who just aren't qualified to offer the service. If they can't do it/aren't good enough at it to risk wasting their own supplies for a proof, then they're stuck, in theory. (Though, they'll probably just try stealing someone else's screenshot, but that's another issue).

 

Hmm I agree with Sin, maybe pics for harder things like barbarian assault? or some quests such as "DT" or "Mournings End Part II"?

 

Barbarian assault is easy, it just takes alot longer.

A torso takes me six hours at most, usually around three hours. It's nothing hard actually...Though it would stop random idiots opening up a shop and claiming to be a pro.
