World ends 2012/Government Conspiracys

What do you guys think is really going to happen in 2012?
Alot of people are saying the world is going to end because the mayan calender predicted it, and none of what they've predicted has been wrong.
Theres alot of conspiracys about the government, but i'll get to that in a minute.
The scentific part of what whats going on in 2012 is all of the worlds are going to be aligning in our solar system on December 21, 2012.
They believe that the sun is going to produce the worst solar flare we have been hit with and is going to destroy the earths top layer of crust, and everything on it plus they estimate that the radiation on earth will last around 5 years.

There's also a conspiracy about the government that they are building underground cities miles below the earths crust below an airport in denver, incase we are hit with the solar flare. the government is also navigating our natural rivers to flow directly underground? Theres also another government conspiracy that the government wants to make everybody get a tiny microchip under the skin in your hand, or in the skin on the side of your head.
And, this microchip is going to be used to keep all of your info on it, personal info, your background, credit cards, etc..
And if you don't get this chip you won;t be able do live, can't buy food, or pay bills, buy the necessitys in life.
The thing about this chip is that it has the numbers 666 on them, mark of the beast, and for christians, believers of god, we believe that its the mark of the beast, and so we will go to hell if we allow them to have us wear it. They have already begun allowing people to get chipped if they want. Pretty soon they plan on forceing us to get chipped. Heres a video of a guy already getting it implanted.

Me personally, I believe that there is going to be something that happens in 2012, a natural disaster and that alot of people might die, but theres nothing i can do, so it doesn't really bother me. I just find all this interesting, If the government does try to force us to get chipped, I won't allow them and would rather die for jesus, like he did for us, then live for the devil.

Some of you may have already heard all this, so whats your guy's opinions on all of this? Believe any of it, or even care, even if you don't believe in god still post your opinions

 

I believe in God yes, but incredibly doubt something is going to happen.

The whole "2012" situation is only this big because it was being advertised around so people would go and see the movie.

Also, the Bible states that "No one knows, however, when that day or hour will come, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son; only the Father knows."

Let's put it this way. If the world was going to end in 2012, why isn't everyone out, having fun?

After all, if we aren't going to live past 2012, why not have fun now?

Also, there's a Nobel Prize Winner John Mayer saying that it is ridiculous. Where is the proof that the sun is going to produce this solar flare?

 

No, it's not only big because the movie was being advertised lol, the movie was made because of the theorys of whats going to happen in 2012, because the mayan calender predicts it.

 

The Mayan calender doesn't predict anything, it's just when the Mayan calender stops.

Who's to say they ran out of chisels? Or maybe the Spanish came and they couldn't finish it?

 

The predicted it would end in 1996, they predicted it would end in 2000, they now have now predicted in 2012, nothing will happen.

I believe nothing will happen it is just the media hyping it up. Also i really doubt even if they come out with some kind of chip that they would be foolish enough to put 666 on it.

 

Nothing will happen, who gives a fuck what the mayans say? It states in the quran/bible that NO ONE will know when itll happen, only God. And itll happen on a Friday.

 

This^, but the Mayan calendar isn't a calendar as we know it, with months and weeks and days..... It's a chart of the celestial body we see (rather, they saw) from Earth, meaning that there really isn't an "end" to the calendar because it's a continuous cycle...After the last part of the cycle ends in 2012, the world will come to an end, but because of constant speculation, lies, advertisements, propaganda, we think "end" means the end of human life. I believe "the end" means the end of the cosmic cycle- charted by the Mayans- and the beginning of the same cycle, much like a modern year ends, and the next year starts.

 

The Mayan calender never stops. It is never-ending. Because, like M0htasaUnique said, it's not a typical calender. In 2013, however, more accurately some time in February of 2013, the Mayan calender enters its next cycle. I don't remember all of the exact dates, but the hype around December 12th, 2012 is just hype. It's JUST like Y2K without any real potential problems.

At least with Y2K, the possibility of the world becoming chaotic was very real. It was only because people switched from to using Unix time that Y2K was avoided. Elsewise, the stock market, computers, companies, credit, everything would have collapsed.

But yeah, nothing will happen in 2012, except a new president... thank god. However, if Obama is re-elected, I'd hope for the end of the world .

 

It will, however, be extremely entertaining to watch the commotion and riots that will go on during December 2012. All who believe it's the end will absolutely go nuts

The Chip think I wouldn't mind that, Because i believe there is no Heaven nor Hell. So it dont matter to me; Put "666" on my wrist or whatever, I'm fine with it, long as i have food

No. What use is money when 99% of the population is wiped out.

One tweak to this, the Mayans believed that when the cycle ends all life on earth will be completely destroyed and reborn.

 

At 2012.. some shit might happen but big deal, the human race is a curse on Earth.
As for the chip, there's no explanation as to why there'd be a 666 on it? And what use would it be anyway?! We already have a social security number or tax file number which acts in a similar manner. Some people don't though, and they live like gypsies.

The Mayans were an advanced civilization, at the time. Most of the world is now advanced civilizations. There is no way could even predict anything happening that we can't. They believed in a city made of pure gold, killed people for losing a game, and sacrificed humans to jaguar-gods. They got conquered. Advanced societies don't just get "conquered" out of the blue, there has to be a plague or war going on or something. They basically handed Cortez their society.
Athens for example, they held off the Persians, and then Spartans and the rest of the Peloponnesian League, and then a plague until they were finally overrun by the Macedonians. Athens was a highly advanced city-state. The Mayans just didn't do anything and got conquered. They were just stupid.
