100% Foolproof Guide to Not Getting Scammed When Buying Accounts

Don't buy them. All accounts are recoverable, even if it doesn't have recovery questions and it seems like the most secure account in the world.

I bought an account with no recovs, played it for a year, got 100m+ worth of stuff on it, and one day I just couldn't log on to it. A few weeks later, I see that it's levels have gone up and even online during public chat.

I don't actually play RuneScape anymore, and I haven't since the trade update, but I just thought I'd give some advice to you people still trapped in this game.

Let that be a lesson to you all.

Happened. I was just as perplexed as you were. I didn't think it was possible, but for some reason, the original owner got the account back.

It is possible especially if the original owner knew the creation date, first password, first membership information.
Back to topic its not really a good guide, because if your wanting to buy an account, that means you probably will, so not buying it wouldn't really be a way not getting scammed when buying an account.

You've traded with a scammer. That's all. If you trade with someone really trustworthy, most likely the account won't get recovered.

Obviously the guy was a scammer seeing that I don't have the account anymore. There's no one 100% trustworthy. There are individuals on here that are more trustworthy than others, but still. No one's 100%.

Why do you think so many official MM's have gotten banned for scamming? Because the individual with the coveted item trusted the MM and paid the price for it. I'm not saying that official MM's are bad, I use a lot of them and they do their job well. But I will never do an extremely high value trade because greed can take over at any moment. Plus, anyone who spends $100+ on this game needs to get a life.

It's always possible to recover an account, if you're the original owner or have original information it's a piece of cake.
Even if it would be 5 years later.

100% Foolproof Guide to Not Getting Scammed When Buying Accounts

You have to know who your trading with. People may recover their accounts in the near future. It's the way people work. They think they are done with runescape forever, and one day they decide to pick up on it again and recover their accounts. You just have to know the limits to buying accounts. You should have set recoveries, bank pin, etc... If recoveries are set for a year, most likely the owner themselves wont even be able to get it back.

100% Foolproof Guide to Not Getting Scammed When Buying Accounts

This is a sad fact but he is right everyone. It does not matter if the account has recovery questions, an email, or any of that junk. All the original owner has to do is submit a stolen account appeal and have some of the old passwords, zip code, internet provider, and match the original ip address that the account was made with. Just stick to buying accounts from trusted members and best of luck!

not ''every'' account is recoverable, some accounts are, some not.

    like.

if someone has no recovs, e-mail, and you change the pass like once a day you will 100% hack it back if u have it for over a month.
also you need to save the old IP which the other guy played on this helps for ur recovery migth someone hack back.

    just some tips.
