Public is more educated this time, there's gonna be ads etc. Hopefully this'll pass. If not, we just need to wait another 2 years for it to be on the ballot again.

I hope they legalize it, and hopefully the whole country will follow.

Obama just doesn't want to legalize it because he's scared of not being reelected.

I'm a true pothead and am proud to say it.

I'm hoping that Cali will cause a chain reaction. It won't happen fast but other states should follow.

    California: Proposition 19

California is the first to legalize everything... I laugh at those who claim that marijuana is a deadly addiction.. the only danger involved is the possibility of being introduced to other drugs while under the influence, which, if you're with actual friends and not crackhead dealers, won't happen, so to sum up; I too support the legalization of marijuana.

    California: Proposition 19

Hey guys, here's some recent news.

California: In what is arguably the most significant marijuana law reform measure in several decades, California voters will decide on The Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010. The measure would allow adults 21 years or older to possess, share or transport up to one ounce of cannabis for personal consumption, and to cultivate the plant in an area of not more than twenty-five square feet per private residence. (Read the full text here.) The act would also permit local governments to authorize the retail sale of marijuana or the commercial cultivation of cannabis to adults and to impose taxes on such sales. Personal marijuana cultivation or not-for-profit sales of marijuana would not be taxed under the measure, nor would it alter or amend any aspect of the California Health and Safety code pertaining to the use of marijuana for medical purposes.

According to the most recent statewide poll on the issue, Californians support the measure 49 percent to 41 percent.

Gonna take a while. Federal decriminalization isn't expected for 10 years minimum.

    Bad side of this:
    looks bad for the US
Drugs are still "bad" for the majority of baby boomers/non-liberal minded
moral aspect (from POV of non-liberal minded)

Does it say anywhere that it will be legal to grow your own shit? Because if it was I would definitely take advantage of that.

Weed should be legalized but should have an age requirement of 21 I believe.
Thousands of people are having their lives ruined and going to jail just by hitting up one joint. You really can't OD on weed, so it's not even that harmful (except for lung cancer but cigarettes cause that as well). Society tells us it's "The Gateway Drug" but to me that's just total propaganda bullshit.

Agreed, and I still believe that it is physically impossible to OD on weed just by smoking it.
