They would be forced to bring back old updates and offer incentives.

Lol this forum has 100,000 members, of which only about 10,000 at most are active and play runescape.

No where near enough, and most wouldn't end up doing it anyway.

Theres millions of RS players, one forum, two forums, or even several forums is unlikely to have any impact.

But, if it did happen, Runescape would obviously die. Hard to tell what they would do, they wouldn't bring back old updates though.

 

Yes I meant several forums. If we pulled off at least like 50,000 people, it would be enough.

they've made enough money with it tbh but they would, or they should advertise on television for more members or something?

 

This would A. Force them to meet players demands.
B. They wouild go out of buisness.

Not enough people care and as you said it would never happen.

 

That would be pointless, why ruin the game we all hate but love at the same time ? :S

 

Jagex would not go out of business just yet. Most of the people who suggest this do not know how the economy works:

Knowing Jagex, they would:

1. Cut costs- lower graphics quality, remove things like QA, forums, Customer Support etc, cut wages, removal of many underused sections of RS, anything to lower the cost of production.
2. Add more features that appeal to the addiction factor. They want people to be addicted.
3. Market the game more to 7 to 11 year olds- try to bring in a new wave of "younger generation players" to the table

Either way, I don't see the return of the Wilderness, I don't see them going out of business, and I don't even see Runescape shutting down.

 

Half the people who cancel would renew it the next day.

 

Goes back to the addiction factor. That's why many of us are still here.

It's the one point where Jagex really has power.

 

That's true, they do everything possible to make the game as addictive as possible.

 

50%, there are like 1 million members, 500,000 would never unsubscribe because of this lol. Besides, most people get their mommas to pay, so why would they ever ask to unsubscribe. I think the word is fail.

 

If everyone unsubscribed at the same time, they would just close rs down and suffer no loss.

 

I doubt they'd ditch RS, they'd do something to get it back up and running again (if this ever happens)

 

If they were smart they'd wait a week, and then have at least 50% of their subscribers back. lol.
