You claim the Koran explains embryology, which is at best a questionable claim.

Then through an enormous leap of faith as it is, you decide this is some kind of weapon with which to strike a blow against atheism.

This thread is a waste of time, simply posting a YouTube video is not sufficient background for a debate.

 

What are you talking about? Humans are animals, we evolved from the ancestors of modern apes, and given enough time we will evolve into something else. Why is that so hard to accept?

We are, technically, animals as we are in the animal kingdom. You may not accept evolution as valid, but 6.5 billion others do. I think you're a bit behind in your knowledge, also. Your debate is at least a decade old, new discoveries have been made recently that while the chain isn't complete, there's no doubt amongst any community that we were far more primitive in the evolutionary path in our earlier cycles of development.

If you understood how DNA worked at all, you'd know this.

There is no proof that we evolved from apes, lol. As of today, it is still a theory.
I want you to give me an official statement by people who are experts in the field that we did come from apes backed up by proof.

I read the first post, and nobody here understands what you want to discuss. Even if the Qu'ran predicted Embryology (most likely using ambiguous language, leaving us to interpret a lot on our own), what relevance does this have to Atheism? Wasn't that the whole point of the thread? Also, it may be widely accepted as a "fact" about the human body now, but back then.. they had no hard evidence to back it up, only a theory, or a prediction. Your "debate" is a fine example of the ignorance your religion has taught you. Put your religious views aside for the first time in your life and realize that just because you were given an allusion to something that would later be discovered does not prove anything about your religion, mainly due to the fact that it was not the first piece of literature/person to have a theory pan out to become accepted fact.

Also, by your logic, since evolution isn't proven (and I assume you mean that means it is inadmissible to debate) religion is far from proven as well, so your entire argument is flawed.

@Angel The greeks had some kind of an idea and a lot of theories that were proven wrong by modern science. Nothing in the qur'an contradicts modern science, it might contradict a theory but not a fact.
