Do you really think Jagex is a non-profit organization?

I really thought Jagex only wanted to make money, until I heard a Player Mod explaining the opposite.

 

Of course its for money, if it wasn't they wouldn't be making people pay for membership.

Put it this way. If it were a non-profit organization, what is the point of it? No one would do something for no profit. You're basically back at square one.

So to sum it up, Jagex is a profit organization and that PMod is an idiot.

 

Jagex is obviously not a non-profit organization. What the Pmod meant was it's not making much profit (Ads make profit) off the F2P players.

 

No idea where you got this non profit idea from, but it definitely is not a non profit organisation.

I'd assume the membership cost is used to maintain their servers, and if they dont make enough money from that, they're also paid to advertise to F2P, players.

Just my 2 cents, but it makes perfect sense.

 

Of course they're in it for the money. Why do you think they do all these retarded updates that all the veteran players hate? To attract new players..

I do believe Jagex care, even if it comes across as they're just trying to touch stuff they don't need to change.

 

I think, like Fed said, they do care about their online "image" and whatnot. However, I do think to quite a far extent that they're in it for the money partly. I mean, why else is membership charged at a monthly price?

 

That's not what he means by non-profit, Jagex are not soley chasing money.

Membership and other shits and giggles is to fund staff wages and new game content.

 

What Pays for the servers. What pays for there Jobs. What helps them and their family survive...

All the money they earn goes towards Staff Wages and New Game Content, like Fed has said; and other stuff. They may make a small amount of profit, but that is about it. Jagex is a big organization, and they may have loads of staff, and what not...

 

They don't have loads of staff. They don't even have customer support! They make plenty of money for themselves.
