Blocking friends from Facebook Chat!

Hello everyone. In this guide I will be showing you how to block your friend only in the facebook chat. They will still have you added as friends and everything else will be normal, the only difference is that they will never see you on chat.


I'm going to keep this as simple as I can.

Step One: Open http://facebook.com

Step Two: Go to the Chat Window and open it.

Step Three: Go to the top left of the chat window and click on "Friends List."



Step Four: A smaller window will appear next to the chat window and you will see "Create a new list." Under that, you will see an area for text. In this area you can name your new group or category. In my case I'm going to name it "Annoying People."



Step Five: Once you create the new group, it will show when you open up the chat window. To add someone to the group you can click on their name and drag to the new group (just like you move people around on MSN). You can also click the "edit" button that is next to the title of the group as shown in the picture bellow. When you click edit a window will pop up and you can simply choose friends that you want to add to this group by clicking on them. Once you choose all the people you wanna add, just save and move to the next step.



Step Six: When you open the chat window you will see a little green switch next to each group, in this case you should have two (look at the picture bellow to see the green switch, it is circled in red). Just click on that switch and it should say "offline." Once you choose which group you wanna go "offline" for, they won't be able to see you online while the rest of your friends who aren't in that group will be able too.

 

Guide looks nice, but the subject is about as basic as you can get. Perhaps try to expand your topic next time to cover a broader category or "how to".

Although I appreciate your opinion, I make guides on whatever I feel will help people.

I asked a few people and almost no one knew how to do this, even though it is a simple thing. I made this guide because tons of people use facebook and I personally believe that it can be helpful for most sythe users regardless of the fact that it's basic or not. ^_^
