Religions debate.

NOTE 1: I AM NOT ASKING YOU TO GIVE A PERSONAL OPINION OR BELIEF IF YOU DON'T WANT TO, SO ONLY PROVIDE ONE IF YOU FEEL IT SUPPORTS YOUR ARGUMENT OR THAT YOU WANT IT TO BE KNOWN, THANKS.

NOTE 2: Not all religions have a God, so please, don't just look at this aspect solely as a basis for what a religion is, many religions do not even have a God, but simply a human idol, please bear this in mind and only post if you are able to back up your argument.

Are there any religions which can be seen more reliable* or accurate than any others? (please do not just post one word answers or I shall ask a MOD to remove as spam) All answers should include a detailed explanation as to why they are more reliable.

Reliable*: Believable in the case of religions as to which is more likely to be true, maybe backed up by science or proof, this should be defined by your argument (very vague idea of reliabilty, but you should decide on what extent you define reliability).

Also, please post any other questions or topics we may debate and I shall create a new thread for the best ones later on in time.

Please, also feel free to quote people and have counter arguments but do not block, or avoid questions if possible. DO NOT RESPOND TO A QUESTION SOLELY WITH ANOTHER QUESTION.

I think you should be able to believe what you want without being under fire from everyone else. It's your mind, you are allowed to believe what you want regardless of what anyone else thinks. Then again, you are believing these religions because of influence etc.

Do you believe in god?

 

I believe that IF there was a god, he has no stayed around to looked after us and I believe this due to the fact that there is so much suffering and inability to control anything. I do however believe that he existed due to the fact that the creation and designer theory won me over by saying that everything had to be made by something, which leads to God, this leads me to become stuck at this point though as who designed God? I don't know.

 

Why will this be locked?

I understand that you may be able to believe what you want, but that is kind of off topic as you were unable to answer any of my questions in a way of comparing at least 2 religions, you simply stated your opinion.

 

Don't argue about religion if you don't believe in god. Please.

Start from the root, not the branches.

He is our creator, we are his creation. Anything he gives us is a gift and it is from his mercy. We can never repay him or thank him enough for the things he has given us. If a person isn't as blessed as you, you should be thankful, not judgmental. By saying these people should have this and that, you are making demands and you're acting like it is gods right upon you to give you those things, which it isn't.

As I said; don't argue about religion when you don't believe in god, please.

 

My god is more reliable/accurate than your god, prove me wrong

 

I personally believe in Reincarnation, now , that is my main belief, I do agree with some religions' points of view. Some religions that Make sense (to me) are:
Hinduism
Buddhism
Sikhism
I will not go into detail on each one but I don't believe all those bullshit fairy tales that Christians, Muslims, and Jews have to offer, Yes i do believe there is something greater out there, but not all the extra stuff.

 

I just said That IF God did exist, that is not saying I don't, I am simply putting my opinion about his current existence in this world. The reason for me talking about the Suffering thing is that God is Omniscient in Christian eyes, so therefore he knows about the suffering, he is also Omnipotent, showing he has the power to do to something about this, and he is Omnibenevolent, showing he is all loving and cares about all creatures, including humans and should not want them to suffer. By all three of these beliefs of Christians, if feel that they are not reliable as what they believe quite clearly cannot be true.

Also, you tell me I shouldn't argue about religion if I do not believe in God, but what about other aspects of religions? There is more to religions than just God exists or he doesn't, some religions don't even have a God that follows worship, simply an idol. So, unless you are able to provide constructive feedback, do not reply or it shall be reported as spam.

 

I didn't ask for you to prove other God's wrong, simply state with evidence as to why you thought that a religion was more accurate than another. God's, although a large part of many religions, are not the only aspects.

 

Every religion revolves around God. What is the role of an idol?

As for my counter argument as that not all religions believe in a God, Buddhism.

I don't think of buddhism as a religion. The 3 main religions in the world revolve around god. I don't care about the 700 other religions out there. You wanted to know which one is more relaiable, so let's look at the top 3 religions.

I think that the world has been slowed due to religion and it annoys me. People would sacrifice advancement, pleasure and morals for something they have no proof in. It's all one big scam, make a religion, get followers, get money and there you go!
