Turned 22, Last month, I still couldn't figure what to do in life. I'm still in med school but I'm very anxious what's ahead.

My goal in college was to get the degree I need to make the money I want. I didn't love the idea of being an accountant but I was really good at it.

Make sure you do something you love. "It's not work if you love what you do". If that's something in the medical field, then go for it!

My girlfriend is in med school, she feels the same way. Make it through schooling and you will be fine. Don’t quit or dropout…

Just stick with it and figure out what you love to do as you go on bro. If you figure out what you love to do after you graduate, you at least have a back up plan in case things don’t work out. That’s what I’ve basically been doing, I don’t do what I love right now but I’m sticking with it until I figure out what I want to do. I’m only 23.

When you make a goal stick to it and don't make excuses for yourself. Take a part of your income and set it aside for emergencies. It's also good to group your money in separate envelopes with what the money is for and keeping a log of what goes where.

    I've always hated this quote.
All jobs are work. No matter how much you love it, it's work.
I have had jobs I've loved, I've had jobs I hated, but no matter what it's always work.
EVERY job has certain aspects you don't like, or commitments you'd rather not do, etc.

    As for OP:

Be SMART with your money. Don't commit to things lightly. Try to focus on always push yourself to learn new things.

Any adults here, what advice can you give to (me) young adults?

Honestly there's a few ways of proceeding. Something I wish I did was go with what I wanted to do instead of following what all of my friends were doing (Plumbing) I thought it was a good trade and it's something people always need, but I would have been better off doing something IT / Computer game design / Graphic Design / Web development to name a few things which better suit me. So I'm 26, I've got plumbing qualifications, medicine qualifications to be able to work in a pharmacy, and now I'm finally moving away from all of that because my heart really isn't there. Moral of my story, sit down, think of what you want to do, try it, see how you like it, even offer yourself for free to companies in whatever industry you choose, i'm sure they would take the free help, if you don't like it, it's fine just go back to the drawing board and try new things you might want to do instead.

“It’s the oldest story in the world. One day you’re 22 and planning for someday. And then quietly and without you ever really noticing, someday is today. And then someday is yesterday. And this is your life.

Ask yourself, why do you try to figure out what you want to do in life? Why don't you just do what you like to do?

22? You have 7-8 years to figure out stuff.

    Time is your friend.

It's completely normal to be anxious, but it also helps to always have a plan and not just blindly go through life.
I know it's a lot harder than just "find a good fun/school balance" but that's basically what you need to do at this stage especially while you're in school.
Plan for your future - Take some serious time to yourself and help ease that anxiety but also don't forget, you're young, have some fun too, that also helped a lot of my anxiety in school.

You're in med school? Surely thats a straight enough path. Maybe you just have anxiety and should seek help for that, if it's bothering you.

Its not a race. You dont have to do something because someone ever gave you the idea that you must do something. If you need to start over again with whatever you want, you can do that.

Don't assume that the things that you like now are indifferent. You will change a lot when you grow older. That's a good thing to realise.

Its also the perfect age to pick-up some skills that will benefit you your entire life. Your degree is one thing, but uni does not teach you everything.

With regards to relationships: I always felt that if you meet your SO when you're younger, both of you are less 'formed' and you can converge to one another. Growing together is a good thing. The older you/your SO is when you meet, the more different you will be(come). Hope that makes sense.

Hmu on discord if you want to chat. I've been where you and it's good that you're open about your anxiety.

Finish your degree, but also focus on what makes you happy. Any ideas to start a side hustle up would be great to do, no idea is a stupid idea. Eventually get yourself into the property market, thats the best way honestly. Anxiety is one of those things that you can overcome, but if you find yourself really struggling with it seek help; never be afraid to ask for help. Certain situations you'll find yourself to be anxious and thats perfectly normal and don't think that this is not ordinary; if you find yourself becoming anxious in most situations try and understand what it is in those situations that is making you feel that way.

Either Way, your 22 and you have your whole life ahead of you, some people figure it out and some will still be searching there true purpose in their late 20's. Just don't get stuck doing something you don't like.
