Wireless Network Help?!?

Today I used a recovery disk on my laptop to simply reinstall the operating system on it. It was not a disc that was provided by the company (it is an IBM disk, I used it on an HP laptop.)

The laptop seems to be functioning properly all except for one thing:

I cannot connect to any wireless networks.
I cannot even see the "Wireless Network" icon in any of my "Network Places" or "Connect To" menus.

It is running on XP.
It has an "Intel(R) Pro/100 VE Network Connection" Network Adapter.
Under other devices in "Device Manager" there is a "Network Controller" however anytime I try to instal this driver I get the "cannot find the necesary software."

What I need help with (if it is not clear already) is connecting to the Internet wirelessley. I AM able to connect through the "Local Area Connection" directly through my router / modem.

This is due to you not having your wireless driver installed. You need to use the disc that came with your wireless adapter/card and install the software, or go download it from the provider's website on a different computer and use a USB to transfer the data to your PC (or use wired connection to DL the driver(s). This will fix your problem.
