I agree with you in terms of the fact that they murdered their own citizens, but the fact that they murdered civilians from other countries doesn't really make them entirely different from other armies. Civilians are killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, in the First World War citizens were killed, as were they in the Second World War.

I guess you can kind of classify the soldiers of Germany's regular army evil, but a lot of them cannot be blamed for the atrocities they committed. They were forced into it, and would have been punished/accused of being a traitor if they didn't. If I was in the army and under a contract then I don't think I would refuse to do what I was ordered.

Without the US soldiers right now the United States would
be being taken over by Al Qaeda. They would be torturing us
and mass murdering us. The soldiers of the US prevent this from
happening. In my opinion they saved millions of our lives and protect
my country. I do deem them as heroes, I don't know if you think
that them saving millions of lifes considers them a hero or not, but
    I most certainly do.

Yeah, I still think if a soldier really felt strongly against it he could find ways to evade it, or even save people(And many did, which goes to show it's possible - yet the vast majority didn't). Personally, no matter what I was told, I couldn't murder an innocent person - or family - like that.

People do terrible things in times of war. I read an article about sniper that had sniped his brother in English class

Again, I disagree.. He was doing what he was told. It was an order from a higher official to guard the entrance, and the unfamiliar target crossed after being told multiple times to stand down.

I am personally in the USAF. I disagree with this very much. A hero is someone who will stand up for what they believe in. They take pride in what they do and understand that their life is on the line for others. If I were you, I would try walking in a heroes shoes before you say anything at all.

But there is no such thing as something worth fighting for, because everyone ideal of worth is different.

How does it feel to know that you can legally kill people, and get away with it because you are part of this horrid force?

Do you believe soldiers are not heroes?

How doe's it feel to legally kill people and get away with it? Let me answer that question for you as straight forward as I possibly can.

    a) With the protection of the Law of Armed Conflict(LOAC) - A millitary unit may not under any circumstance harm an individual who is considered an non-combatant. You have several different classifications to make a decision from you have. A civilian can become an Unlawful Combatant or Lawful Combatant upon relinquishing their protected status. In order to relinquish this status they must attempt to harm a lawful combatant. For everyone's information, most of the nations in this world abide by the LOAC. Except of course: Iran, Iraq, and many other Islamic Extremist Nations.

    • Unlawful Combatant - An individual participating in hostilities without being authorized by a national government.
    • Lawful Combatant - An individual participating in hostilities that has been authorized by a national government.
    • Noncombatants - A civilian, not a combatant what so ever, can be traveling with military forces and still be considered a non-combatant. POW's and Medical Teams are considered non-combatants.

    b) We can't legally kill anyone. Not only are people protected by Law of Armed Conflict. But, we are also bound by the UCMJ or Uniform Code of Military Justice. Just in case you didn't know. When we receive an unlawful order proposed by an officer appointed over us it is our duty to turn the order down. This doesn't necessarily mean that we always will.
    Scenario:
Officer issues a command for an enlisted soldier to execute an unarmed civilian. Enlisted soldier refuses claiming that the order is unlawful and wishes to speak with the Chain of Command to file a unlawful order report. Officer can either refuse and lose everything or accept and keep some of his rank.

So, you wanted to know exactly how I feel about murdering innocent people legally? Well there you go! There is more to it than meets the eye. If I were you I would consider doing a bit more research rather than say that we are "legally" murdering people. It's warfare kid's, get over it. People die. People live. In the end if this war was indeed a mistake then let our country grow and learn from the mistakes that we have made in order to prevent further bloodshed. And by the way, I am sorry if I got off-topic.

I don't care about your codes and laws. And since when did i say innocent people? Are you trying to put words into my mouth? If i remember correctly, (yes, i do actually) then i would have to say all i said was how does it feel to legally kill people?

If the war was a mistake then let our country grow and learn from the mistake - of, and involving the death of people? Wow, that is quite a big learning measure don't you think? Lets kill people now, ask questions later. If we are wrong, then oh well.

This goes back to the revolutionary war, we killed people to get freedom fromn England. So if we hadn't killed the redcoats we would still be controlled by England.

I'm talking about the primary war when the U.S. won the war, and we got our freedom. I don't know if you are american or not but if you are we can all appreciate what they did for us.

Quote that goes perfect for this is "So long as there is men; There will be wars"

People use war to solve the problems that are going on due to the fact that people are easily intimidated by military and murder. Not very many conflicts in history have ended peacefully, which is the sad truth of the human race. Apparently violence is the answer.
