Guide on Pricing in the Steam "Black Market"

I am creating this guide to explain to new users how the market works and also to express my own opinions on the market's current condition.

    Pricing

Probably the most important subject. I will be answering the most common questions I am asked.
"How much is my steam account worth?"
Ok, First of all DO NOT use steam calculator!!! This will mislead you into thinking your account is worth something close to what you invested in it. Im sorry it sounds like that, but thats how it is. The black market is not a friendly place for personal accounts.

I will give an example of how much some accounts are worth. (Some accounts have a wide price range, but i am just using my exp from selling on kh, st, as, sythe.)

    8 Digit
    0:X:XXXXXXXX
    Games:
    Counter-strike: Souce
    Counter-Strike
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
    Garry's mod
    Day of Defeat
    Deathmatch Classic
    Garry's Mod
    Half-Life 2
    Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
    Half-Life 2: Lost Coast
    Killing Floor

If this is your personal account you have probably invested about $130 into it. On the market, it would go for around 15-25$. 30-35$ If you’re lucky.

    My Thoughts

I’m not happy that prices are that cheap either. And I’m not just saying that because I sell accounts. I have to buy them two. They don't grow on trees. But for those who have not figured it out yet. WE MAKE THE PRICES. Prices are only that low because we list them that low. If the most popular/Known steam traders would increase their prices, they would make more money and the average sythe member looking to sell their personal account would not have to give their account away for a few dimes. I am also not saying you will recive what you put into your account. That will never happen. But I am asking that low digits be sold at more resonable price. For example: HL1 6 Digits should not be 10$! Low digits will NOT last for ever. When steam disables low digits that no longer have existing proof of purchase, they are gone for good!
If you are a steam trader and support this idea please post!
This will not work unless all the trusted steam traders agree!

I will be adding onto this whenever I feel something is needed.
Disagree with something I said? Feel free to post!

I agree, Ounce steam disables all the inactive low digits
there won't be so many, then they will have to be worth something
    The prices should be,
    6Dig 30 - 40$ 5Dig 50 - 65$ 4Dig 170 - 200$ 3Dig 250 - 300$

1000 for a 2 digit? dam gurllllllllllll, that gives jonas a boner. i support ur thread. 7 digits with hl1 shouldnt be 3 dollars. And i use steam calculator to just find the digits. If the account has any games made by Valve, it will show up as Valve Complete Pack which is $100, when you really could have just Counter Strike 1.6 which is worth $10

Guide on Pricing in the Steam "Black Market"

Heh raising prices won't fix the issue. It's economics 101. The steam market is saturated with a huge amount of accounts, but the demand isn't there to drive the prices up. So suppliers/sellers lower the prices to attract more demand and get rid of the accounts quicker. All raising prices is gonna do is give them a free ride to steal all your customers. If you want to raise prices, either limit the supply of accounts or raise the demand.

Guide on Pricing in the Steam "Black Market"

This guide isn't great. You do not really explain how to calculate one's price, you merely state an example. Try including something about digits. Also, SteamCalculator is a GREAT reference in finding your retail price so you have a basis for your "BM" price. 4/10
