It is really fucking expensive to upgrade the servers. The downtime is usually 15-30 mins daily. Why don't you fucking deal with it? Or as Harped points out, why don't you pay for it if you think it's cheap? Idiot.

Sythe is free for you and me. There is the option of donating, but that is OPTIONAL.

Don't complain about it when your doing contributing at all.

 

I actually offered to provide a vps maybe for $9 a month. My thread dissapeared somewhere. I am sure that DDoS is a problem which could be solved by tracing,etc

 

The only upgrading option is now is a cluster of servers, which would cost much more than what Richard is making off of Sythe, and because Sythe is supposed to be making him money, it doesn't make sense to upgrade.

 

I dont think donating is the issue here, sythe makes enough money with its ads lets be honest.

 

I think the only real issue now is greed versus help. The philosophy of the site administrator sounds like the CEO of Citigroup."Lets make money! Forget the service"

 

Why would the CEO spend a ton of his own money and not get anything back?

 

Why should he pay money for a little bit of downtime, and give us access to sythe for free, with the option to donate.
I wouldn't complain about it since we're getting it for free.

 

He's greedy for not wanting to lose heaps of money? Get real.

If you want to create a similar site to this that is non-profit, go for it. See how long you last.

 

Maybe a limit to how much profit? Is that how you would conduct business? I know we access it for free,but the ads pay for the site too. Maybe the hosting doesn't need to change,but at least maybe catch the DDoSers?
