My brother plays runescape (I know..) and he get's connection losts, extreme laggs and other slow times. I know it's not because of his computer because it is new and has way more then enough ram and his graphics card isn't that bad (for runescape). I think it's that the connection between his computer is repeatedly disconnecting and connection (or some packet lossess?). Help please.

Yes, but I don't get this problem on my computer at all (also running on a router).

It could be one of two things.

    1) Your computer is closer to the router so you get a better connection.

    or

    2) He has a program running on his computer that he is unaware of such as a virus scanner or some other program.

1.) We're pretty close, and our router is really strong.

    2.) Nah, I checked. :(
A virus scanner: Microsoft Security Essentials, which uses very low RAM and isn't scanning. Like I said, he has a lot of free ram (his computer has a total of 4 GB of ram), and when I click task manager, there is barley anything running.

Then the last thing I can say is that there is some reception or something interfering with the connection from your brother's computer to the router. I used to have the same problem but that was because I was a bit far from the router.

Not that I know of. There's him, air, router. I think it's something to do with his Ethernet card, & he's losing packets (didn't show up on the test, though).

I also had a packet problem when I used to play CS 1.6 and that was caused because something was interfering with the reception. I don't think its his ethernet card. If you can, try putting his card into your computer and yours into his and see if it works then. If his computer still has problems, its the interfering.
