Trying To Get A 6 Pack

I recently joined a gym (like two weeks ago). I have been heaps busy so i haven't been able to go consistantly yet. I plan on going every day (working different muscles each day, so don't tell me i am doing it wrong). BUT! My goal is to get a 6 pack. How long do you think it will take me to achieve this?

I am using two ab workout machines. One that you do situps on, at an angle. Another you do ab crunches with, using weights. Currently i do ab crunches with a 30kg weight resistance (you can set a resistance on this machine, first time i've seen one of these so you may not have seen one either). And i'm doing cardio. I am not good at running, so generally i walk for 3.5 minutes, run for 1.5 minutes, walk for 3.5 minutes etc. Until 20 minutes is up.

Trying To Get A 6 Pack

Depends try drinking protein shakes around 24 oz. before and after each work out and eating alot of meat ( healthy non-greasy) It should only take around 2-4 weeks doing that. After you work out don't just go to McKie D's afterwards stay awayy :p

Trying To Get A 6 Pack

Okay, first off, you already have a 6 pack. There is just a layer of fat covering it from showing.

If you want the belly fat to disappear, 80% depends on your diet. Ab exercises and those so called "machines" only makes your abs stronger, not make them show. Do stuff like, swimming, running, bike, etc to lose that fat.
Also, 20 min is not enough. I walk home and it takes 20 mins..

I myself have near a 6 and I hardly work out. I eat 6-8 small/big meals a day, mainly protein and drink plenty of water.

Taylor Lautner got his packs in 9 months. His lucky, most men get abs like him in an average of 1 - 2 years.

One last tip, motivation is the key.

Trying To Get A 6 Pack

Are those workout drinks really that effective!?
    And i'm quite healthy.

Yeah i've done my research and i know that everyone has ab muscles. But i am quite skinny, i don't have fat on me, i can see the bumps of the six pack. Like when i'm punching my boxing bag, at certain times my abs will stick out.

I am unfit so 20 minutes of cardio will have to do for now. But i do walk a lot in general, i walk to the bus stop, then from the bus stop to the uni (which is quite a distance) and i do that 5 days a week. I have a car, but i only ever drive when i'm with my girlfriend, otherwise i walk everywhere. So i get a fair bit of excersise.

It is ALL about your diet dude, don't eat fatty foods. My diet for the past 2 months has been. Oatmeal for breakfast, with a glass of OJ and a banana. Lunch, footlong Tuna sub from subway, with no mayo. Dinner either tuna salad or couple chicken breasts. Then ATLEAST 35 minutes of cardio and then weight lifting.

What your doing is right, but you will have to work on your lats aswell as your abs.

Carry on doing crunches and maybe some ab curls. If you plan on going everyday it shouldn't take you too long depending on your current body shape.

I used weight gaining shakes first, then went to the gym as it's easier to turn fat into muscle than building mucles from nothing.

Trying To Get A 6 Pack

6 packs arent all about situps. 6 packs are an achievment. You need to definitly drink protein shakes as stated above, they are very effective. You also need to work on your whole core not only your abs. Last but not least you need to diversify your workouts. There are TONS of workouts for abs other then sit-ups. You got 6 inchs, numbers, bicycles. One routine i did swimming this year i found great was this.

Get a group of friends, some heavy weights, and a hallway.
1.set up stations depending on amount of people, for instance; 1 person at sit ups 1 at six inches 1 at push ups and so forth, now 1 person will run down the hallway with two heavy different weighted dumbells (also known as a "farmer run") When they get back you switch up, do this continuously for a good amount of time.

    Another one thats great your your core and fun is this;
You need a hallway and a rope.
Put the rope down and jump across is from side to side feet together for 45 seconds to 2 minutes, then sprint the hall and back. You have no idea how hard it is after that, its a great workout.

Hope i helped and if you have any questions feel free to pm me.

Trying To Get A 6 Pack

This is the best answer to your question. As stated, everyone already has a six pack. The ab muscles become relatively visible upon achieving a body fat percentage of 10-12%. The leaner you become, the more defined they become. To do this step, diet and halthy eating are the important factors. Do some research on something called "The Zone" diet, it is a pretty good concept that doesnt require you to do any crazy eating/workouts/purchase fad products.

If you are already lean and your abs are visible, but you want to make them bigger, you will need to work them out in the same way you would increase the size of any muscle. Doing hours of crunches will get you the muscle ednurance for your abs, but not size. Just like getting big arms or chest, you need to work them out with weights. Using the machines is decent, also try doing weight sit ups (grab a 45 plate), reverse sit ups, etc.

Abs are made in the kitchen; no amount of crunches will make your abs appear faster than a good diet. Your body fat percentage needs to drop to around 9-11%.

Trying To Get A 6 Pack

I really don't believe i have much fat on me. I am quite skinny, is there any way to check how much of me is actually fat?

I would post a picture, but my phone doesn't have a cable to connect to the computer.

If before and after workout drinks will help, then i'll probably get some of them.

I don't really want to do a whole heap of cardio because i'm quite a busy person, and currently don't have time to do so much cardio, 20 minutes is about all i can do. And i don't just do cardio + ab workout machines, i do all weights for all my body. I'm guesing if i do 20 minutes of cardio, it will be a slower process to get a 6 pack, but i'd still get one eventually, right?

My friend has a 6 pack and he eats mcdonalds all day..

Some people do in fact having crazy genetics and metabolism, so ignore your friend. Regarding the cardio, it won't give you abs. Having large abs is a matter of using resistance training with the abs. Having visible abs is a mtter of being under 10% body fat.

If you have only 20 minutes of cardio a day, do high intensity interval training at a high heart rate, that will get you lean quicker than running.

Find out your body fat percentage. If your skinny but can't see your abs yet your most likely around 15-17%. No amount of abs work, with or without resistance, will help your abs show better than just reducing your body fat a good 5-6%. To do this you'll mainly need to fix up your diet and make sure you burn 200-400 more calories than you consume.
