i hope i did this right as this time as i'm quite tired of scammers getting away free.

he tried to use a fake msn:

didn't quite work since i made him admit it on thread saying it was him i was talking to, he said it was because his other was locked

He states his MSN as [email protected], and says that [email protected] was the one who asked him to post in the thread to verify his msn. An impostor (jake) obviously pretended to be you in order to get him to post: the same email has been involved in a lot of similar scams recently. You should have read the thread more carefully.
