Scammers Unbanned

Recently, I have noticed the rule that if a scammer refunds the victim, they will be unbanned. I must say I think that is ridiculous, if they are happy to do it once, they could easily do it again.
The best real life situtation I can compare to would be:
A guy walks down the street, and notices an elderly woman. He decides to steal the womans bag and run off, expecting not to be caught. The woman reports the incident to the Police, and they catch the offender that night. They say as long as he returns the bag with all the original contents, he will escape punishment. The criminal returns the possessions to the woman, and continues the same thing until 1 day he finally steals somebodies bag, and doesn't get caught.

Would you really do that?

Opinions please...

 

Only if they're hacked and hacker scams will they be unbanned if they refund.

Many people will realise that, and just claim they were hacked in order to get another chance. IMO whether your hacked, or just a scammer, if your account is used to scam, whether you pay back or not you should always remain banned, which is where I guess my views differ from most others.

Lets say the man gets blackmailed into stealing the old ladies purse, and later goes to the police and gives the purse and all the contents back, or replaces the money after giving the blackmailer the purse, and telling them who blackmailed him (if he knows,) he will probably escape any serious conviction.

 

But what if the the guy realised that he would be dealt with leniently by claiming he was blackmailed, and claimed this in order to escape the correct punishment.

 

If they were hacked, (The IP is checked), and pay back what was scammed by the hacker, they are unbanned.

 

Seems like everybody thinks differently to me, oh well
Anyway OT...
How easy would it be for me to use a friends computer to scam somebody, get caught, repay them and continue the same cycle until I got away with it.

 

people get hacked (shit happens.). the rule isn't changing.
