Teen arrested for listening to 'offensive' music

I simply don't get it.. Yes, the lyrics are 'sexist', and COULD be offensive to women. Though, the way i see it is if the CD is legal in this country, then the buyer can listen to it however he or she wishes. There is plenty of other music out there with FAR worse lyrics than this.

In my town people use far worse language than this by just talking to their kids.

What do you guys think of this?

Eh, they have a right to arrest him if it was really loud. Cops in my town say if others can hear it outside of the car, it's too loud.

He also probably smarted off to the 5-o, which made them more prone to arrest him. Police do have discretion, if you are nice to them, shit goes a lot better.

What a joke. I'm fairly sure that playing "offensive" music is not against the law. I'm sure that the kid had something to do with his own arrest.

He looks like someone who would try to get into trouble.

"Mr Wilkie allegedly told officers: "You're a joke, go do some real police work."

I do believe that's called being an "ass", but he had good reasoning, this is stupid.

First arrest of this kind in Australia.

    Why do you assume that?

    This.

See first quote in this post.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. I look alike this guy / aim for the look. I've never been introuble with the law.

While being arrested for listening for music. I would have cussed the fuck out of that stupid ass fucking cop arresting me for bullshit like that.

He said that after/while being arrested. He didn't say it in the beginning.

As i said before, i hear people in my town talking to their little children worse than what that song says. Aboriginals are funny people..

    Yeah.

    Haha, yes, indeed.

What a load of crap. I'm not surprised though as police are generally quite pathetic. If that happened to me I would have honestly thought it was a prank or something..

never heard of anything like this happening. My guess is that since it was causing a disturbance the cops warned him and then he got smart with them

If he wouldn't have smarted off the the cop I'm sure the cop would have been more lenient. It's a little ridiculous that he got arrested but he shouldn't be listening to music that could be deemed offensive so loud.

I'm sure there's more to the story, but for now I'm siding with the kid. Seriously, does that cop arrest everything that pisses him off? I would sue the hell out of that cop if that were to ever happen to me.
