So they become members and spend money where as old players will quit eventually. Similar to the way tobacco companies spend money advertising to younger people, out with the old in with the new. Never ending cycle of users.

because they already know that many of the vets are fed up with runescape already and going to quit, so they want to draw as many people as they can in

Don't act like this is the only game that does that. Every game wants to attract new players in order to make more money. Every members in runescape shouldn't get to emotional and think that they really matter in the game. Because they don't.

Anyways what more can you want. Over 100+ quest. Way more features then free players. Shit tons of mini games. There is so much stuf a member can do you can't expect jagex to release new updates for members every single day, because what is there now to release? They almost got everything.

I see a lot of people saying jagex sucks or talking trash about kids. Don't hate nobody unless you got a real good reason to. Because if you don't got a good reason then your just acting like bunch of 11 year olds.

I don't doubt that the Jagex staff consist of people of 11 year old mental maturity. They're doing it cause they're DICKS and they want little kids to get attracted to all the noobshit. To be honest, when I was that age, I liked the pking. Not the noobshit granite plate + dlong.

I remember there was once over 230K ppl playing runescape, and membership costs 5$; now around 150k ppl online, and membership costs 5.95$.
Such kind of update wont attract new players, god bless please dont ruin runescape.

If they like the game as a Free Player, there is more chance they will become a Pay-to-Play Player.

Why his Jagex appealing to new players?

Because we are already members (some of us), and he wants to make newer members like the game more, and so newer f2p players will have a better chance of becoming p2p members! ;)

Why his Jagex appealing to new players?

Well, I have the same answer as everyone basically.. but; Jagex is obviously trying to appeal to the younger group, as I was an "11 year old kid" when I joined, and they know a lot of veterans won't quit, because they've become ADDICTED. A lot of people don't notice, but they spend all their free time on Rs. So, they still have most of their vets because they're to addicted to quit, and they're getting younger, newer players to buy their membership..

Not saying this is the reason, this is just what I've came up with.

There isn't suppose to be much to do in non-members making members more appealing to people

Jagex is a business. Most business's main goal is to make money. If they make the game more attracting to F2P players they will upgrade to P2P giving Jagex money.

older players are gonna stay around in fairly large numbers whatever Jagex do - even things like the trade changes and lack of wildy didn't kill player numbers anywhere near as much as everyone thinks.

What jagex need to do to survive is turn those " little bored 11 year olds that got linked the game from a different website" into proper long term players, otherwise RS might die soon. And lets be honest, the old tutorial was rubbish :)

Really? That update was for 8 year olds to not leave the game before they know what to do?

I liked Runescape when you actually had to figure things out to get things done. If I wanted to buy an item, I had to know where to go, and what world. If I needed help with a quest, RuneHQ, or friends. If I needed a way to make money, I experimented.
