Old paypal problems - still exist?

Well a long time ago when people were selling accounts/gold people could reclaim the money from a paypal trade. Is this still possible?

Yes. Chargebacks are still as popular as they've always been. The only half-effective way of preventing it is to get the payee to put "I have already received the goods for which I am paying for" in the comment box. Coupling that with the "gift" method should help you. However; nothing makes you 100% safe. Try mail, western union or moneybookers.

And 'lifeismyjoke', please provide a full explaination for him, anyone could have told him "yes". The reason why he came here in the first place was for a good, well thought out answer.

 

Also, the way most people will chargeback is by Credit Card nowadays, because of the gift method and other things. So, you must find out if the money they have sent you is CC funded. First off just ask them if it is CC funded and if they say yes...don't do the trade if you don't trust them. Also, you can have them take screenshots of their balance or that it is bank funded. And a last way to check is once you receive the payment, go to Issue A Refund, and click Continue. On this page it should show you the source of the funds. I'm not sure if there is a way to chargeback if it's not CC funded though. Just take these precautions and you should be fine.

 

It's quite possible to chargeback with a bank account. You could try to call your local bank branch that you have linked to your paypal and have them complete the chargeback.
