The only sensible answer is to reproduce to continue our race. Besides that, there is no answer to why we're here or how we're alive.

Stop looking for the answer, there is non.

 

As you said, to reproduce and survive.

That hasn't stopped people before, if it wasn't for people questioning the unknown and expanding our horizons, I doubt that we would have half as many things as we have today.

 

Man questions his existence because he is capable of questioning. Man is the only animal with the ability to question things, and therefore takes advantage of it. Sooner or later, the human race is faced with the question of existence.

Why do we live? What is the meaning of living? Why exist?

Does it? Living is just defined as the act of surviving, nothing else is really implied.

Why? What's the purpose?

Because curiosity killed the cat. And because the left half of your cerebellum gives commands for humans to rely on logic (in your own way). And because we have these urges and curiosities, we ask questions. And we need logic to answer these question. It's only logical to ask why we exist because there's no logical answer.

The meaning of life is deeply mixed with the philosophical and religious conceptions. The answer to this question depends on the person who is answering it. The meaning of life is said to be;(as Bring me the Horizon said) to reproduce and continue our race, but in many religions, it is to worship god. But of course, this is different with every religion, either you're atheist, Muslim, Jewish, Catholic, Christian, or any religion. That is how I see this question, but it is always arguable.
