You can't choose what you want. If for some reason god made it so some people can want women and live happily ever after and some people want the same sex and not be allowed to live happily ever after, then gods a fucking asshole don't you think?

 

There's nothing wrong with experiencing being bi etc... but i think people jsut make up their minds up too fast. Studys show you need to date over 50+ people before they really know what they want in a person etc...

But even if you don't marry, you can live happily ever after ....I also think the passing of this law would offended the "typical" couple.

 

Dating 50+ people can dictate the PERSONALITY one is attracted to, but the gender which people prefer is almost innate and no decision involved.

No matter what law you pass there are going to be people who disagree or are offended. The government should then, oblige to the people who are 'offended'? If that's the case nothing will ever be ratified.

 

Homosexual personality traits can be spotted in young children, long before they hit puberty and start dating. These traits include oversensitive behavior and choosing to play with girls instead of boys.

Stop assuming it's their choice to be gay, it's not.

And offending the "typical" couple? Maybe interracial marriage offends the "typical" couple? So lets ban that too.

 

You could also stop assuming that all homosexual people are that way for the exact same reasons, and that all homosexuals can be 'spotted early'.

There is a vast array of reasons people are gay, whether they are born that way or not.

It surprises me how closed minded you are considering the fact that you need to see it in your religion or party to be happy with it. The Bible does not say anything about you going on Sythe and posting this, and your party certainly does not, but you do it anyway. If Democrats now started to say that "Sythe is grrrrreeeeatttt," would you stop posting? You are basing a belief off of scripture written a couple thousand years ago when knowledge of someone being homosexual would not be so obvious because it was repressed.

Basing your life off of political beliefs and written scripture is a sad way to lead your life. The Bible is a guide to the Christian belief system, it is not a dictation for what you can and can not do (unless you are VERY religious). Yes, it has rules, but i can guarantee you even your local priest has broken one or two of his rules.

Rules change, society changes, and we must adapt.

Well, i think thats more an issue for the federal government. But basing an argument on that alone is a little weak because if all marriages are compensated then your argument for "No" would apply to heterosexual marriages as well.

I may be misinterpreting, but this is what i see.

 

You are what you are. Gay or Straight. This is a free nation(USA), and that is why there are many different races/beliefs.

Refer back to the very first response to the thread for my opinion.

I still think that Civil Unions/Commitments should reap the same benifits as regular marriage does. Not giving the same benefits is their way of saying they don't believe in what you're doing and they do not acknowledge it as a real commitment .
