Can I legally change the country I was born in?

I don't like my nationality, I'm not going to say it. I'm not racist or anything. Lets say I was Syrian (I'm not Syrian) and I wanted to legally change that to France and be French? Is that legally possible?

 

If you move there then you will be known as a French citizen...
I find this interesting, as most people don't seem to like the French much.

Well if you were to come to America (If you're not American,) then you are legally a citizen of America. Although, you can't change you're race. Sorry.=|

You cant really change the past, but all you can do is become a citizen of the country you would like to be a permanent resident of...

 

You can be a resident of France, but you will always be born in the country you were in lol.....that would not be good if you could do that.

 

Legally changing it would be just getting a passport from that country and yes you can do that.

 

To permanently change the country you were born in would be illegal. You can change your country of citizenship, and you can change your country of residence. But where you were born is where you were born and it cannot be erased due to legal constraints.

If it was legal then every criminal on the run would be applying to change their country of birth.

If you need an example you can just look at it this way.

You were born in the netherlands, you are a citizen of the United States, and you live in South Africa.

The latter 2 can be changed by changing your citizenship status and changing your current address (respectively), but the place on Earth that you were brought into the world in will never change.

 

You can become a permenant resident of your chosen country, but you can't change your nationality.
