Some players who have display names don't have "last known as"

Just now I checked my friends list and some players who I know have changed their display name, does not have the "last known as" call out when I hover over them. Also they do not display the symbol either. What is with this weird thing?

Dunno? I think its a update from Jagex, possibly when your username is changed and you left it like that for about over a month? Maybe the symbol could disappear? I'm not sure.

 

when you change your name there is a months wait before your name has changed fully, therefore the symbol goes and vwala your new name. then your old name becomes available for other players .

 

I changed my name a lot longer than a month ago and I've seen on my friends friend list that the symbol is still there for my name so idk its wierd.

 

The symbol doesn't usually go away. I've changed my name once then changed back to my original name and I still have the symbol.

 

It's probably a glitch You can report it to Jagex if you wish lol. Go to their forums and make a thread in the Tech Section.

 

I'm having the same problem. Could be a glitch, as said above.

 

Most likely a graphical glitch. Or due to recent updates.

After a month of the name change the 'last known as' arrow disappears. This isn't a glitch, completely normal.

 

Yeah I read some of the Q&A's on forums and they said people change there name simply because they didn't like there original so they allow it.

 

The last known as only applies if you've changed your name in the past 31 days. After a name change, it'll show last known as "______" for 31 days. After 31 days, it dissappears and it's just your name.
If you change your name again, the box will appear again.
This function just allows the friends of the name changer to know who they are.

 

People who have had their old screen name removed for being inappropriate, get a chance at a new name, and after the 30 days. That becomes their "Original" name.
