Rhodesy's Guide on how to create a Fanpage/Group on Facebook!

Firstly you may say that this is stupid and pointless. But I can honestly say when I started going on facebook and I had no clue at all and same with some of my friends how to essentially construct one. So this simple guide might help you, or it might not.
I can admit, it is very straight forward and since the new facebook change it’s effortless but before the change it was difficult.

How to create a group

Step one:
Load your facebook page, on the main page (news feed) and you will see on the left hand side of your screen you will see a some options. Click groups.


Step two:Then you will see in the top right it says + Create group, click it.


Step three: Fill in all the information like group name, description etc.
Click Create group, and then your done.


How to create a fanpage

Step one:
Load your facebook page, on the main page (news feed) and you will see on the left hand side of your screen you will see a some options. Click Ads and Pages.


Step two:
Click Create page located to the top right of your screen.


Step three:
Fill in the category and the name of your page, and when you are done click create page.



Which should I make?
I would suggest making a fanpage, fanpages can be joined with one click on someones wall.


With groups you have to click on the page, and then click groups, you would get more with fans with fanpage because people are lazy.
Also, fanpage allows more options than groups, so overall I would choose Fanpage.

I hope this three step guide in making a fanpage/group helped you in your fanpage/group making adventures. Constructive critism is welcomed.

It's only useless when people know how to do it, some people new to facebook would not know, thanks for the crititsm anyway.

I would disagree. I think the guide is for a very basic concept, but you did it well. I never knew how to do this personally. It is not a bad guide at all, just very entry level. It looks good though, good start.

 

I already knew but it took me AGES to work it out myself. I'm sure this will be appreciated by some.

Good guide overall, and as you said and i agree, "its only useless to those who already know how to do it" i myself didnt know how to do this, and am now setting up a fan club on myself lol
