    Communication

It seems apparent that many users here on Sythe do not possess communication skills at a level to help them through life.
The main factors that affect communcation are:
    • Learning Styles
    • Confidence
    • Barriers To Communication

    Learning Styles
Although this may seem farfetched to be involved with communication, it does affect how well you communicate.
The 3 main learning style models are Gardners Multiple Intelligences, VAK and Honey & Mumford's model. These are available to view on www.brainboxx.com
There are also many quizzes widely available online that will determine other aspects of your personality. These two inputs come together to create the output of the effectiveness of your communication.
For example, lets take the VAK learning style model.
    V - Visual
    A - Auditory
    K - Kinaesthetic
Although this is designed to determine your best method to learn, it also effects communication. When you find out your best learning style, you can use this to better your communication.
Whichever of the styles if your preferable style for learning, will also be your most comfortable method of communicating. It is important to rememeber that communicating is not just through speech.

If you are a visual learner, your best way to communicate would as you should have guessed, by visually. Try communicating with body language, pictures, actions etc. You will find this easier, as you are more understanding towards visual communication, and therefore will be more effective. This can also be related to in the working world, where if you are a visual learner, you should try to communicate with customers through pictures and diagrams, or communicate with peers through presentations.

If you are an auditory learner, once again you should have guessed your easiest method of communication will be through sound. You should mainly focus towards spoken communication with others, whether it's face to face or on a computer makes no difference, you should still aim for vocal communication. If you are trying to communicate with a large group of people at once, for example advertising maybe try adding your spoken advertisement to some background music.

Kinaesthetic learners should be most comfortable with 'dong' things to communicate. This could involve such things as sports or online gaming.

Obviously they are directly linked to learning, which can also help communication. Simply by finding a guide on communcation that is in the form of your most comfortable learning style will aid your knowledge of communication, and enable you to communicate easier.

    Confidence
Another main factor involved with communication is confidence. Everybody alive is equal. No matter if it's a celebrity, or somebody unemployed, they are all equal. When you start to see people as 'out of your league', which happens alot in schools where there is usually a group of 'popular' children and a group of 'less popular' children, this is when you encounter a problem. This I believe is the main reason why somebody wouldn't communicate with somebody else, as they feel they are not 'cool' enough to speak with them. This is where confidence comes in. Believe in yourself, you are the same as everybody else just with different hobbies etc. You can speak with anybody you wish to, and you would be surprised at the results, and good friendships can be formed from people who are far apart on the 'popularity' scale.

    Barriers
Barriers to communication, as the title suggest, stop the flow of communication between people. There are many barriers that you may not have even realised.
The main barrier is stubborness, believing that you and another person are so different that you should not communicate. You never know how well you and another person will communicate until you have tried. Just because you are different that does not mean you can't be friends.
Other barries to communication include noisy environments, which may stop vocal speech from being interpreted properly.

I have mainly focused on communication for friends, but the same principles work for different sexes towards relationships. Never think to yourself that somebody is too good for you, untl you try you will never know. Always do what your heart tells you, that way you can never have regrets as everything you did was exactly what you wanted at some point.
