Need Urgent Serious Paypal Help

For about 3 months now I have had a paypal which was $-130.00. The only thing paypal did is email me which I did not care because it was a fake paypal and a fake email. Apparently my real cell phone number was on that paypal, I received a phone call from paypal,

Operator: Hello is this XXXXXXX (real first name, fake last name)
Me: Yes it is
Operator: Is your adress still XXXXXXX (fake one)
Me: Yes it is
Operator: Well you owe us $130.00 we will sent a debt collecter
Me: hung up.

They keep recalling me but I just dont answer, what do I do?

The only real piece of info on that paypal is my phone number, can they use it to track my actual address?

 

Of course.

Authorities can ask your phone service provider to provide a name and address if they actually decide to pursue the matter.

I'm afraid your only option is to flee the country.

On a more serious note: Maybe you could attempt to change your mobile number, or ring your service provider and change your registered address so if paypal calls them, they provide paypal a fake address also.

 

I do not recommend doing this as it will just lead to more problems, however, you can send a cease and desist letter to the debt collector(s), which protects you and does not allow them to contact you UNLESS they want to bring you to court(SCC) to get the money. It is a low possibility that they will pursue $130. BUT, if they are going to, there is no real escaping anyhow as they have your information now, so the cease & desist letter atleast stops the "harassment".

 

I'd personally change my phone number, what did you do to go negative? lmao

 

that seems a little drastic, I sold a rs account, used the money, person charged back.

 

I'd rather change than blow potentially 130$.

 

Highly unlikely that they'll send a debt collector for $130. The service alone would cost them near that much, and assuming it went to court, they would lose more then they could of recovered.

 

thats what I thought, until they called me and asked if my adress is correct and said we are sending someone over (not exact words)

You need to calm down lol its fine if they have your phone number and the debt collectors wont do shit. They had my address and everything all they sent was a letter to my house saying that i owe NCO debt collectors 300 dollars. Never replied they kept calling and i told them on the phone if you guys keep calling me ill report you guys for harassment and i never got a phone call or a letter again from them. EDIT: Its been 6 months and nothing happened and no one will come to ur house. If someone does tell them to fuck off and if they dont call the cops for harassment.

 

They won't send the debt collector. Don't worry.

If you are worried that they will, you can try logging into your paypal account and change your mobile number.

But in all honesty, don't worry.
