Yeah that's not a dream, that's called sleep paralysis. It's annoying as hell, I know. When you go into the REM cycle your body essential cuts off signal so that you are unable to act out your dreams in real life, but there's a little zone where you can be fully awake and still paralyzed. What I typically do in that state is just meditate. It can get pretty nuts.

Yeah I get sleep paralysis every now and then. Just relax and you fall right into a lucid dream.

I know there are certain things you can do to prevent it, like not taking in as much caffeine and also have ambien prescribed for you. Ambien just makes it easier to be asleep and stay asleep. I personally had something quite similar. Even smoking weed would help, I'm sure.

Haha you probably will suffer it at least once in your life, might not be as harsh as some others, but majority of the people suffer from it at least once.
Like a panic attack, I've never experienced it, but a good majority of people suffer from it at least once, usually late in life (30-40's.)

Do you sleep on your backside? Sleep Paralysis can occur from sleeping on your backside. I've only had this once, I opened my eyes and the window was open. And it felt like someone was in my house. Scared shitless after that, will never forget it.
