Look what scamming has lead to.

    Hello fellow Sythe members,

I used to trade through this website years ago without actually making an account.

I quit RuneScape for years and returned a few weeks ago, and along with that, decided to finally create an account on Sythe.

I've noticed that over the years, a new scammer would come in, they would scam what they could, they'd get banned, and the process would repeat. These days it seems that the amount of scamming has settled a little and more members choose to play it safe and only buy from sellers with large amounts of vouches.

I believe that this has lead to an increase in difficulty for us newcomers. We now have to make a name for our selves before we can even consider opening up shop-threads on Sythe.

I've attempted this by offering my services to a number of people who I've contacted on MSN. And the replies I get are: "You only joined a few weeks ago, I can't trust you", "Only 3 vouches? And you went first in all of them, that does nothing for me".

So I just want to say thank you, to all the scammers that have made it just that little bit harder for the legits that are trying to make a name.

And another thank you (minus A LOT of sarcasm) to all the legit users, and especially the users that have given me a chance to prove I'm trustworthy.

I've decided to partner up with a trusted Sythe member and open a levelling service.

Thanks to those who even bothered to glance at this thread.

    Have a nice day.

Well honestly what do you expect? These different factors give a pretty accurate picture of how much we can trust someone. If I'm buying a $4 membership pin off somebody with 2000 posts, member since '07, etc then it's quite obvious he sure as hell will not risk being banned for a lousy $4 trade.

I understand that. I'm willing to put in effort. I'm just frustrated with people who get joy out of lying and stealing.

I doubt they do it for the joy or w/e i'd guess they do it for the money lol, but at the end of the day its the internet, always gonna be scammers/pricks, just gotta work around them, one way of doing that is by getting your rep up so you don't have to go 1st etc etc.

Thanks spyke! Means a lot coming from you. I've seen your threads and a few of your success stories, and the infamous scamming story with the parents!

    Much respect.

And zak, yeah I know what you mean lol. I've partnered up with AH64 and hopefully I'm able to get a chance to prove how legit I am :) All in time I guess.

    1. This wouldn't exactly belong in this section.

    2. Do something that everyone wants. Find a way to sell pins and people will buy. Go first for people who's posts counts are like 750+ or something.

    3. Post a lot, become more known and make friends. It'll help, plus it's a good experience.

You have a low amount of vouches, therefore people will not want to trade with you.

Gain vouches, people will be more willing to trade with you.

I know how you feel dude, but it does take time, I have been coming to sythe alot over the years, but I don't post every time I come and read something, just simply I don't have anything to say. In the case I do tho, I had a leveling business that I did for free. I don't think it helped my rep, but it got me some respect with a small amount of people, but all I can say it just keep at it man, and good luck.

Post count means nothing, don't teach newbs that post count = trust.

    A few tips:

    1. If it the trade seems fishy, it probably is fishy.
    2. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Avoid trading.
    3. Do not trade with unregistered people that add your msn off Sythe.
    4. Read the stickies!

Post count does mean something? No, if you have a million post and only been a member for a month or something, but if you have 2,000 post and been a member for a few years? Yea that does mean something. Several reason, one people probably know who you are, second you have probably done several trades or similar. So post count does something to do with if people trust you, but not solely the post count. I don't think Bring Me The Horizon was saying just to post.

Post count shows you have posted a lot and sadly does mean something. "good" scammers raise there post count 500+ and scam this way.

    Stay legit and good luck

Runescape gets no one no where in life.

Get with the actual world, going to party's, bars, clubs even if your under the age of 18, work a little and get a fake I.D.

I remember when runescape had almost taken over my life lol no life ill keep it 100, i used to wake up every morning pretend i was going to school, and wait for my parents to go to work so i could play runescape, i would repeat this everyday, not to mention i lost so much weight lol i was looking like a skeleton.

My game with girls was at the lowest possible lmao. Who says Woot in real life or pwned lmaoo, thnk god i stopped.

My advice to you is stay on sythe to get a good laugh out of the retarded members and just enjoy the community, working for free is never worth it. Especially a leveling service which takes so long....

Thanks for the post Albania. Choose to believe what you may, but I play RS about 30 mins to an hour a day. Not because I think I'm cool, but simply because I don't have the time to. I never put the cyber world in front of the real one, it's simply there so that if I run out of things to do in my real life, I check whats happening on here.

It's an little bit of extra dosh that I can spend on legal/illegal substances ;)
