Hookups' Ultimate Skateboarding Guide. (Part II)

Hello, Welcome to my Skateboarding Guide Part II. before I quit a year and a half ago, i had skated for 4 years of my life. so hopefully this Guide helps you to learn, get out, and skate!

    Contents.

    1. Popular Street/Basic Tricks.
    2. Skate Spots.
    3. Sponsors.

(All Images provided below are from Google Imagesâ„¢)
(All Videos provided below are from YouTubeâ„¢)

    Content One, "Popular Street/Basic Tricks"

    Ollie-
Let's start off simple. the Ollie is the first trick you MUST learn before you can even try to attempt anything. Every single flip trick there is has an ollie in it no matter what.

    My Tutorial.
-Keep a steady Balance on the board.
-Pop the Tail of the board. (where your Back foot is.)
-Slide your front forward up the board.
-This should cause the back of the board to Pop up along with the front.
-Put a little weight towards the front, so the Board evens out for an easier landing.
-If you don't land it, don't be discouraged no one ever gets things on the first try.
-Keep practicing until you get it down.

WITH VIDEOS. I DO NOT KNOW IF WE CAN USE VIDEOS OFF YOUTUBE OR NOT. IF THIS IS AN ISSUE A HUE PLEASE TELL ME, SO I CAN REMOVE IT.

    Video Tutorial:

    Kickflip-
The Kickflip is the most popular trick out there for beginning skaters. Once you land your Ollie, you'll be craving to learn and master the Kickflip.

    My Tutorial.

-Keep a steady Balance on the board.
-Place your feet as if you were about to do an Ollie.
-Bend you knees for higher pop.
    -Pop the tail.
    -Slide your front foot forward.
-Then snap your foot off to the side.
-This should cause your board to rotate.
-Keep on practicing until you get the board directly under your legs, then practice landing. because trust me, this is one of the hardest tricks to land ever.
-once you manage to land it, Bend your knees.
    -Ride away.

    Video Tutorial:

    Pop Shove It-
The Shove is a pretty unique trick because of the variations and stuff you can add on to it. and not like other tricks, this trick rotates the board in a whole different way.

    My Tutorial.
    -Keep a steady Balance.
-Place your back foot right into the incline of the board. (right where the tails starts to go up).
-Place your front foot in the middle of the board.
-Flick your Back foot behind you.
-This should cause the board to rotate in a clockwise motion.
-The board will go in front of you.
-Jump with the Board and land.
-Bend your knees and ride away for a cleaner landing.

    Content Two, "Skate Spots"

Once you start getting pretty damn good at Skateboarding that's all you'll ever want to do is hit up spots. Some may be local, some may be across the country and some might even be small little spots or skateparks. But all you'll know is that you'll want to hit them up.

    Some Famous East Cost Spots.

    Brooklyn Banks.

    Philly City Hall.

    Flushing Meadows.

    Some Famous West Coast Spots.

    3up3Down.

    Clipper Ledge.

    Venice Beach SP.

    Content Three, "Sponsors"

Well, there isn't much to say but this. If you think your pretty damn good and want to get sponsored, you or your friend(s) can videotape yourself skating. and you send that Video tape into the place where you want to get Sponsored. Now, always start local, never try to get Pro Sponsors just like that. You'll never get it trust me. Or head down to local Skateparks that are having Tournaments and Skate sessions, and they're bound to be Company Reps looking for Sponsors. Then just go uphill from there.

Well, i hope you have Enjoyed part II which is the final part to the whole Guide. i hope you Appreciate the time i put into this, and put it into some use! :p

So now just go out Skate, and have fun.

    Thank you.

I was training Ollie for like a month, it was better and better, then I made a 4-day brake from skating and... Nothing works at it did. Lol. I hate it. I may come back to skateboarding on spring. Nice guide.

People learn at different speeds, it took me about 6 months to learn how to Ollie whilst it only took a friend 2 months. Don't give up.

To thread starter, nice guide but you should include foot position pictures.

Although I strongly dislike skateboarding, and all guides situated around it, I'll base my evaluation on the context of your guide. Basically, what you've done is written a couple of sentences, copied some pictures of the internet and copy the embedded of youtube videos. The guide looks like you've done a lot of work on it, but really it would've taken a couple of minutes. However, the guide is really well presented.

For next time, write most of your sentences and take your own pictures.
