Free your minds - you never know what you might find? What's your vice? You know I won't compromise.

Anyway, almost 17 years later I've decided I'm tired of my name. I don't mean my Sythe.org username. I mean my real life name. Those of you who have seen my pictures might be able to think of more suiting names, but even for those who haven't, you probably know what I'm like characteristically.

If any of you have any (serious) ideas for names, I'd be interested to hear.

I won't be choosing a boring name such as James, Michael, etc., but, at the same time, I'm not going to legally change my name to something like 'Prince Yobabo'.

This is a serious thread. I'm going to legally change my name if there's one I like.

I'd give it a while. Once you enter the professional world, you'll find you actually like your name, and it's more fun to use pseudonym's.

I had planned on legally becoming Deacon for several years, now I think I'll probably just register it as a legal pseudonym so I can sign documents and such with this name.

Either way, settling on the decision now isn't too wise, you should just wait for a few more years :p.

I'm in class right now, and my friend Simeon reccomends "Simeon", or "Sim" for short.

That's true. However, just because I want to change my name doesn't mean that I don't like it. In fact, I love my name. I'm just bored of it. It's like eating Chicken Katsu Curry with a pickle salad garnish every single day. Very nice, but awfully monotonous after seventeen years. :D

My post was deleted? Interesting... Your disaproval with what I said allows for you to delete it? Fantastic!
What I said was completely relevant to the thread, I even suggested a name. To think you made a thread about freedom: you're funny!

If you want to post a provocative post on my thread, I'll just infract you next time rather than sparing you the infraction. Stay off this thread unless you want to fulfil the thread's request and suggest names.

    Lol, very true.

I used to dislike my name simple because it was so easy to mispronounce, and because it just didn't seem very fitting. So I always had people give me nicknames. I was "Fes" in school for the longest time, I went by 'Frost' for most of high school... Now I'm known as Deacon online, and barely talk to anyone outside of the internet, so I only use my real name in moderation ^.^.

You just need an escape :D.

Finn, did you not read the post before you deleted it? I clearly suggested Holden.

Ugh, 'Frost', Deacon? How awfully corny. ^_^

But you're right, I do need an escape. And if I change my mind, I can just change it back. It's not expensive. I'd just rather do it properly than pretend my name is something else.

    Haha, yeah, well, I was 15 ^.^.

I dunno your guys' laws on this, in America, you can actually register other names, get ID's for it, etc. You can only have one SS#, but you can use your other names like whois guard. And then when a company does a background check, or whatever, they just go by your birth certificate name.

I was just thinking... I really don't see the point in changing your name - you'll still be the exact same person. Your name doesn't define your character. That perogative is reserved to how you act and essentially, are. What are you really going to escape from? Nothing changes!

You change your clothes. You change your hair. Your name shouldn't be any different.

Really, it's all about aesthetics. Names are part of your appearance, and a good name can actually help you in life.

A person with the name "Christian Lacroix" would have a better chance of being accepted as a designer than a person with the name "Bobby Bigtooth".
