computer issue

Ok i have a Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop. about a week ago, i noticed one vertical blue line, very skinny running from the bottom to the top of my screen. just thinking nothing more of it, I just ignored it. then suddenly a couple days ago, there appeared 2 purplish/reddish lines on the left hand side of the screen, very close to each other.

the strange thing about this is that they cover all windows, the desktop etc, but when i move my cursor over them, the cursor is on top of them (meaning that the line is underneath, so you cant see it over the cursor...
WHATS GOING ON??? is this fixable?

 

Its probably an LCD issue. Check to make sure your inverter is all the way plugged in. It COULD be your gfx card but im doubting that as your mouse goes over it. I had this problem on my HP(multiple back/red lines), and after replacing the inverter, it turned out it was the gfx card and i ended up tossing the pC.

 

it is the GFX card, ive had the same problem.
its got something to do with the inverter, or internally, i'd get that checked out asap

 

In a desktop, the distortions are normally caused by a faulty cable linking the GPU to the monitor or a poor connection between the cable and GPU.

Unfortunately, you're on a laptop, so it's going to be extremely difficult for you to take apart your machine in order to fix it. I recommend that you try to eliminate all possibilities of error with software by double checking your GPU drivers and setting everything to default. If this doesn't work, contact Dell Customer Support Service, because chances are you will only make it worse by taking apart the laptop and trying to fix it.

 

Its probalbly your GFX card I have that on a old laptop and it covers half the screen

 

sounds like lcd problems, try googling it or calling them
