What's with the panic over mint cakes?

Just because it is easier to get doesn't mean people are actually going to work hard to get them. Think of the amount of people who would take their time to run around Runescape for an hour for a MINUTE chance of receiving said item. Most people who use mint cakes for trade are high leveled, and do not bother to spend the time to work for the cakes. Only lower levels will play this silly mini-game, and they will spend forever to work up the junk.

In the end, mint cakes will still stay at their 30-40K range.

Exactly what i was thinking...Not many people play the game. However, due to the ease of obtaining these now. The street value of mint cakes will drop, but I think they will still maintain a decent value until the next rare junk item comes along.

 

You can get a bulk of 8 - 10 mint cakes now as one reward! Plus the fact that mint cake are even more common. It is a legit panic. It came as a suprise by jagex and hit the economy really hard. By friday mint cake supply will DOUBLE. And that for real.

The only way to reduce the supply is to buy a huge supply of mint cake and literally dropping it. Because nobody will eat them. Nor will they drop them. So your prediction of mint cake staying at 30-40k range is wrong. They will be at 10-20k, and that by luck.

Everybody thought mint cake value will go up. Truth is it wont. It was not a stable item even though many people would disagree with me. It had never been a stable junk item. Just a item that was manipulated.

Lols. When this update happened I wondered what all the fuss was about also. 8-10 mint cakes per reward? wtf lol.

 

I knew a drop was inevitable.

 

Once again, Jagex fucks up the economy and causes anger and confusion amongst it's players.

 

My friend got 37 mints in 1 hour and he said in w2 over 400 people were @ gnome stronghold=o.

 

Lol no surprise there really, why WOULDN'T Jagex wanna fuck over their players again?

They've always said they support "Player made street prices" but I never bought that for a second,
and a move like this definitely says something about their motives.

I'm glad that I havn't bought a single Mint Cake, for those who have, I feel for you. =|
