    Ok let me introduce myself

    I used to be a professional gamer I won cevo-professional and cal-invite in CS:S
and cevo-professional for CS. I had offers to tour professionally but quit all video gaming because I wanted to finish highschool and have a life.

I'm currently finishing my senior year about to enter into college and I thought "hey, now that I'll have a place with my best friend and no parents why don't I start an epic project".

The project was to get number 1 on as much highscore boards as possible with the help of my best friend.

As I started playing my first game in over a year (COD:MW2) I hit rank 1 and kept it for two days. At that moment I realized this project was do-able.

Ok all set aside you might have already guessed what I was going to ask lol. I asked several people what would be the hardest game to reach number 1 on and most people said runescape. So after a little google i found you guys and I'm asking for some tips and advice. After looking at how the highscores are kept I've kinda figured that its more of a how long you've been playing kind of thing and after playing for an hour i figure i could play this while playing other games no problem lol.

So give me advice and tips please!

I'm sorry to say this but unless you are literally going to play 24 hours per day for 3-4 years, it's pretty well impossbile to get Rank 1 in the overall leaderboards. As for individual skill levels, there are people with 200mil (max) exp in most skills, therefore even if you max out your experience in that skill you still will only be like rank 4 or something.

Starting an account from scratch playing legit would be in my opinion impossible to secure the number 1 ranked position... You're correct, it is more of how long you've been playing. Runescape would be tough... unless you started with an account that was already up toward the top. Best of Luck and congrats for what you've already accomplished. Very Impressive

The more I think about this the more I realise how impossible this goal would be. Sorry mate but this is the truth. Heres some basic math for ya. Let's say you get an average of 50k experience per hour (this is across all skills as some would be more, some would be less). To secure rank 1 overall you would need 2 billion experience. Averaging 50k experience per hour, you would need to play for 40,000 hours total. This is 1666 days assuming you play 24 hours per day 7 days per week. So if my caulculations are correct you would need to play for 4 and a half years straight (and this isn't even including money making, quests, etc). Another thing is, even if you were to do this.. within 4 and a half years the current rank 1 guy will probably be at 2.5-3bil experience therefore still ahead of you.

Not pulling my own string, but I think I pretty much lead the way on high-level/high-dollar account purchases. I have a few leads on legit accounts in the top rankings that are secure and pretty much risk free. The thing to consider is what you are willing to pay for an account that will not be recovered. To get in the top 500 with an account that has the bank to move up in rank you'll need to shell out above $2-3k easy.

Getting in top 21 would just be murder, starting now. You'll need easily over 5 billion GP to even break the top 21, not to mention making more money, learning to skill, and 1-99 in all stats will take 1-2 years anyway.

I would go for WoW, it's easier to get rank 1 in your class but you need to be a very high skill level doing this. This will only take you a couple of years but it's easier then runescape, but unlike runescape you may never get to number 1 no matter how many hours you put in. It all depends on the skill. I would not try making one from scrath like the posters above me have said "It's nearly impossible."
