    Sending Payment as a Gift
    I was doing a transaction today, and my customer said that he sent the money as a gift. Of course, when I received payment, it said "Payment From," rather than "Gift from"

    To see if you have received a payment as a GIFT, there will be a "Shipped" option on the payment status.

    Any reasoning behind this?

    Idk but I noticed that too (it not saying Gift) kinda geeked me out. So if theres shipping status it is a gift? If not, its just a payment?

    I had this yesterday too during a trade, I thought that the guy was trying to scam me. Have PayPal changed this?

    It always asks me where to ship to no matter what I do in paypal.

    I have to select my address and everything...

    Sending Payment as a Gift
    You can decipher if it's a payment v.s. a gift by looking at if you lose any money from the amount you should receive. When you send money through paypal as a gift, paypal does not take any money out of the gift.

    But if you send the payment as a NON-gift, then paypal will take money out of the original amount.
