I rarely come on Sythe anymore, and scarcely post in the GFX section - my interests are somewhere else... But here's a small token of my appreciation for giving me continuous feedback and criticism on my work. I always take what you say to heart, and endeavor to improve my skills on the basis of what you have told me.
Although we barely converse, you have helped me a lot more than you realize...




I'm gonna make one for KIABIN aswell... He's also helped me out greatly without him knowing

It's actually really nice, just to blur some of the overlaying texture to create some more depth though

i feel that the piece is lacking depth

Would blurring the foreground and sharpening sections of the stock create a bit more depth do you think?

 

the smudging of the chick near the text ruins the depth. and yes sharpening and blurring does generally create depth if you do it right, although its not the only way to do it.

 

I don't think I smudged it? I'm not sure, I'll check.... but I think that the overlaying texture creates the smudged appearance, whereas I should be able to rub it away and the image will become clearer...
Would you recommend to do so?

I honestly think it would look better sharpened, a black and white gradient map set to luminosity, and more space stocks. It would look a lot better. As for now, I love what you have done with it. I'm not sure about the light source completely, but it's a lot better than you've done before.
