The basics of the server
The server started on the 23rd of December 2007 and was created by Haste and Bambam.

Welcome to the Runekeep server guide

This guide will outline the basics of the server, any important aspects and just interesting locations that you may want to check out while you're among the RuneKeep community.

Lumbridge

When you begin your account on the Runekeep server, you will appear in the classic location of Lumbridge. There's limited importance in this location at the moment, but a few things you may want to do before venturing off into the unknown of the Runekeep server.

I suggest talking to [NPC]Hans. He will give you a little quest to get you started. It will involve you taking a certain letter to another NPC in Rimmington. Once you complete this beginners quest, you will be rewarded with some iron apparel.

At the moment, that's really all you would be interested in seeing in this location. But also in Lumbridge, we have the Lumbridge guide, who will just give you a little information on what we hope to be achieving with the server. Nothing important, so you wont need to talk to this NPC if you don't wish to.

Towards the north-east part of Lumbridge, we have the usable furnace! But instead of having to teleport back and forth to an anvil, we've added in a few anvils around the Lumbridge furnace for your convenience!

Also featured in Lumbridge church, the beginning for a premium user quest. If the door appears closed to you, click on the door, log out, and then log back in. The door should then be open, and you will be able to start this new quest!

Varrock

There's a couple of interesting things in Varrock.
When you teleport to this location, you'll find yourself in Varrock square. There is a bank, a range store, and a clothing store adjacent to this area. All things which you can feel free to look at in your own time if you wish to do so.

If you're new, and looking to earn some quick gold, then head on over to Aubury, in his usual little hut, in south east Varrock. He sells god staffs, which, if you are a premium user, you will be able to auto cast NPC's with! He also offers to take you down to the rune essence mine. Mine some rune essence, and you'll be able to sell the essence to higher level players for around 750-1k gold each.

The most popular feature of Varrock would be the portal, which is located next to the west bank of this city. The portal can only be used by premium users. This portal will be able to take you to one of two locations. Canifis, and the Moderators Cave.

The moderators cave is packed with a few NPC's which are good for training your combat stats. You also have access to a bank in this cave, so you wont have to teleport back and forth if you are low on food.

Falador

Falador is currently a pretty empty location.
Here, we have located a few [NPC]Guards, which you may wish to train on as you progress in your time on the RuneKeep server.
There's also a General Store, and a Gem store, which you can buy/sell any items that you feel you need to.

Down in the White Knight's castle, we have [NPC]White Knight's, which you can obtain white armor from. Being a more common form of armor, it is still sturdy battle attire if you wish to do some training.

Also, if you get curious, head over to the Falador garden, where a few [NPC]Baby Mole's are located, and of course the giant mole. Feel free to train on this NPC, but although it is a high combat level, it currently has a very low HP level.

Camelot

Camelot used to be of the more popular locations.

The party room, located near the bank, is the location where most users will host their drop parties, so always be on the lookout, you never know what you might be lucky enough to pick up.
Also, Runekeep Administrators occasionally host drop parties of their own, spawning masses of random items.
So many rare and unique items you might be able to obtain from these kinds of drop parties!

Camelot / Seers village is the most popular area for woodcutting. Having the only usable magic and Maple tree's.

The flax garden, located south of the Camelot / Seers Village bank is accessible, and the spinning wheel, on the top floor of the house (much like regular runescape) is also usable, so feel free to get a little crafting experience, as well as some cash from selling the bow strings.

Edgeville
Now the major place for user interaction and trading. Edgeville usually contains around 10 + members and 1+ moderator. They will be selling things, buying things, preparing for pking at a premium location - ::wac. This is where you should go if you are new and need help starting out.

Other Minor Locations

Draynor : In Draynor, you will only have access to a couple of Willow trees, behind the Draynor bank, also a small fishing spot, next to said willow trees.

Ardougne : Here, we have a couple of [NPC]Guards which you may wish to train on, if you fell like training in a fairly isolated area.
Also, we have a misc. store, filled with a couple of random items which you might want to play around with.

Catherby : Currently, Catherby is a fishing only area. Having the most fishing locations out of any other city in the server. If hosts it's own fishing store, and bank, but other then that, this location is fairly empty.

Al Kharid : Apart from a few armor stores, which all beginners should check out as they progress in their combat levels, this area is virtually empty.

Server Features ;

A few other things you may notice when you're on the server. This part of the guide is to clear a couple of things up, so you don't have to always ask the staff repetitive questions.

1. PVP Areas?
The PVP area's are in the usual Runescape wilderness locations. You may also duel other users, much like how you would in the Al Kharid duel arena. Right click on the user you wish to fight, and click "Duel", and the user will be sent a duel request.

2. Reporting
If you at any time need moderator assistance from any online staff member, about an issue you are facing at the time, use the "Report Abuse" form, located at the bottom of your client screen. This will send a message to all online Runekeep Staff. Make sure you have proof if you wish to report any offenses. Eg. If you send in a report for offensive language, make sure you screen shot the offensive language, and then send it to a staff member through their inbox on the forum.

Premium
Premium members recieve 1 Month premium for around $3 depending on what method they used.

Premium Shops:
These are things such as:
* The herblore store in Taverly
* The 2h store in Taverly
* The premium stores in Kanafis
* The clothes store in Ardougne

Skillcapes:
All skillcapes other than the woodcutting capes are premium. You can achieve them by clicking on the skill you want the skillcape for in the statistics tab once you have reached 99 for that skill.

Dragon Items:
Dragon items are available by using the premium teleport spell from the ancient spellbook. Once on the ancient spellbook by using ::switch, you teleport to the legends guild. Inside the legends guild you can find monsters which drop dragon tokens. These dragon tokens can be traded with the genie at edgeville for dragon items.

Premium areas:
The main areas are as follows:
* The legends guild, accessable through a teleport to the main doors.
* Kanafis, accessable through a portal in varrock.
* Moderators cave, also accessable through a portal in varrock.
* Karramja, accessable through an ancient teleport spell.
* Jad, Accessable while on the client using the command ::jad.
* Wilderness agility course [WAC], accessable through the command ::wac [Dangerous, high level wilderness].
* Barrows, accessable through an ancient teleport spell - cross the bridge and follow the path.

Commands

Runekeep commands, There are a little section of commands on runekeep that teleport you to different places or something that works out being handy.

(prem) ::wac - Popular pking agility course.
(prem) ::jad - same as runescape where you go to fight tok su jad and get firecapes.
(non prem) ::connect - yell channel
(non prem) ::switch - change's spell book to ancient magiks or normal.
(non prem) ::char - change's the look of your character.
(prem) ::maze - teleports you to a fun maze to do when your bored.
(non prem) ::yell message - Used for talking in the yell chat.
(non prem) ::zzz - Does the emote for three z's comming out of your head.

You can receive rewards from pking, these are the Rewards you can recieve from pking.

NOTES:

You will also notice that all accounts created on Runekeep must be verified through a valid email before they may enter any of the Runekeep game worlds. If you're an unverified user, you won't be able to log onto Runekeep. If you're an older user and haven't verified your account, I might be willing to activate you, but most people will be out of luck due to their mistake of registering with a fake email. This is just the first part of the economy reset. Look for more soon.

Runekeep 508 is coming along at a standard pace. Look for a complete integration this month or the start of next.
