gem mine

i was recently looking through some help sites when i noticed a 'gem mine' to me this seemed too good to be true. however there are a few quests to be able to use it, shillo village, jungle potion ect, anyways i was wondering is this as good as it sound? can someone give me more info on this 'gem mine'

 

You mine gems. The one you get is random, more often than not its one of the gems lower than sapphire. Still pretty good though

 

in the long run. what would you say is more profit mining gems or gold ore?

 

I've never done either for long.

 

I'd mine gems,gold is is almost always packed in every location i use and gem mining is more fun.

 

gem mining can also get you crafting. Just craft the gems on the spot and when you get 28 (without crushing) bank for $$$

 

Yes, there is a gem mine in Shilo Village, but they yield very low-price gems such as opals, jades, etc. Getting emeralds or above is very rare, and it is impossible to obtain a dragonstone or onyx from the site. It is fairly good for training crafting though, because you can immediately cut them and then drop them if you're skilling. Other than that, I don't think it is a very good money making method.

 

The gem mine has been around forever, I got excited for it too when I was 11, but it's actually not very good profit

 

How often do you get gems? Like as quick as you would any other ore?

 

You Mine The Gems Fairly Fast Although I Think Its About 8 / 10 gems you get are opal or rubys which are worthless

 

yea, basically, the gem mines are the most useless ones that really don't help as much. its an investment in time really, so its like an investment in money, that you would decide to mine there and nope to get money. but honestly, you wont expect much progress by mining this way. you're better off doing something that's guaranteed.

 

i'd stick to gold
