1.) WHO I AM

My name is Jansen VanMeter Tolle, and I am a professional website designer and developer. Here is a little bit of information about me.

Hobbies

I love working with shapes and colors, but I’ve never been great at drawing, so naturally, I’ve always been pulled to work with digital design. I’ve also always worked with computers and technology, and simple logic always amuses me, which is what drives me to continue basic programming.
I’m also interested in Music Production, Video Production, Interior Design, Video Games, Concerts, Health + Fitness, and of course having a good time with friends!​

2.) EXPERIENCE

I’ve been working digital design since 2004.
I am mostly self-taught, but I do have some structure to my technical educations. I took two years of “Web Design and Programming” at the TBAISD Career Tech Center during my high school education. I have also taken some classes towards my degrees in Computer Information Systems and Visual Communication at NMC.
I currently work as the “Senior Developer” for a website design company in town, and have been working there for nearly two years. I also frequently do freelance work, mostly for friends and often for free.​

3.) WHAT I DO

I specialize in Website Template Design, coded to your preference in a number of formats.

• XHTML/CSS
• Wordpress
• Jumla
• Drupal

I will design your template in Photoshop. After it is approved, I will begin the coding process. I start by converting the PSD to an XHTML/CSS layout, and from there I can add the necessary code to create a CMS template.

I can also do other stuff. I might not be the best at it, but I’ll try!

• Business card or other print design
• Basic logos
• Advertisement Design (ad banners, fliers, etc)
• Basic programming (eg: script modification. Always ask.)
• Website updates
• Consultation
• Organic SEO
• Various IT stuff

4.) PRICING

Professional work may seem expensive, but the difference shows.

My time is valuable. I make a fair wage at my work, and I expect the same (though a lot less) from any freelance clients I am working with. A typical design and development project takes around 20 hours, in my experience, so it is important to think about the raw time that goes in to your project when you're wondering why my prices seem astronomical :3. I charge on a per-project basis, and usually expect payment up-front. Any work requested that is not outlined in the initial agreement will require additional hourly payment (usually ~$10/hr).
In the web design industry, every project is unique.
Therefore I cannot give you an exact price without hearing your project’s details, but I’ll do my best to give you some examples.

Example – Mid-range Design, XHTML/CSS + Wordpress Template - $200
This sort of project would involve the following:

• Pre-Design consultation disusing your visions and ideas, as well as tastes.
• Template Design Process, involving revisions and previews
• XHTML/CSS coding, including sample content or pre-provided content
• Conversion from XHTML->CMS template
• Basic setup and installation of modules/theme if necessary

Example – Basic Design, a few unique pages and a generic page - XHTML/CSS Template - $125
This sort of project would involve the following:

• Pre-Design consultation disusing your visions and ideas, as well as tastes.
• Template Design Process, involving (less frequent) revisions and previews
• XHTML/CSS coding, including sample content or pre-provided content

Example – Simple Design, Home Page + Interior Page - XHTML/CSS Template - $75
This sort of project would involve the following:

• Pre-Design consultation disusing your visions and ideas, as well as tastes.
• Template Design Process, involving (less frequent) revisions and previews
• XHTML/CSS coding, including sample content or pre-provided content

Again, every project is unique.
If you’re curious AT ALL, do not let this pricing scare you. We can work something out. Always ask me about your project and discuss the details before you think about the price.

From what I see your going to go far in this business. And your prices are extremely low by the way. Some professional web developers charge $75 to ever $100+ an hour. To sum it up, good luck!

Great Currently I'm booked for commissions for atleast two weeks, but after that point I can work with you on a project if you'd still be interested.

Basic design is not entirely "basic", it just denotes a simpler interface. Either of these would be a good representation: http://codespace.net/jansen/gtv/ http://codespace.net/jansen/xhtml/ - No crazy custom matte-painted interfaces or anything like that, basically.

An interior page is simply another version of the page designed for regular content. A "contact" or "about us" page would be a good example.
