Windows Key Help.

Is their anyway to check if a Windows key is legit, without using it?
I got a key from my real life friend, and I need to know if it's legit.

Also, is it possibly to delete something off a DVD(I burnt a movie, and it didn't burn correctly and it was my last DVD)
If yes to that.
How do you burn .AVI files to a DVD?

 

1.) I don't know, sorry.
2.) You can format the disk and reprint onto it if the cd/DVD is DVD-R or CD-R.
3.) You can use programs such as: Alcohol 120%, Daemon Pro, or CD Burner Pro. ( I'm assuming you're using Windows to burn, but if not I could probably scrounge up some programs for other OS if necessary.)

Cheers for that, How do I reformat the disk, would it just be under the right click somewhere(properties etc?)
