    WoW FAQ

I'm tired of seeing all these threads entitled "why should I play WoW" and stuff like that so I'm going to start a FAQ styled thread which will probably help a lot. This is a much more efficient way in asking a question as I will be regularly adding and answering questions in here. :noworry:

    Q: Is WoW good?
A: The answer will vary from person to person, but in my opinion World of Warcraft is the absolute best MMORPG out there, and I'm quite convinced many people would agree with me. The game can virtually never be beaten and there are constant updates expanding the game-play. If you want to read a lengthy review by a trusted gaming site, check these links out.

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/worldofwarcraft/review.html - A review of the original World of Warcraft with most of the content that you will need to have in order to play. (Released in 2004)

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/worldofwarcraftexp1/index.html - A review of the very first expansion of World of Warcraft - the Burning Crusade. You need the first one in order to play this. (Released in 2007)

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/worldofwarcraftwrathofthelichking/index.html - A review of the latest expansion for World of Warcraft - Wrath of the Lich King. You will also need the first original game AND the first expansion for this game. (Released in 2008)

Q: How do I Create a WoW account?

A: First, you must have purchased the original version of World of Warcraft and optionally the other expansions. You will need to have the CD kkey around and the game installed. https://us.battle.net/account/creation/wow/ - you're going to need to create a battle.net account by clicking "No - Create a New Account" and fill the information accordingly and follow the steps. There isn't much else to say.

Q: What are the skills or classes?

A: Unlike some games like Runescape, when you create your character you have the choice of 10 diverse classes which are the Druid, Death Knight, Warrior, Warlock, Shaman, Rogue, Priest, Paladin, Mage, and Hunter. To get more information on class you're particularly interested in, visit http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/index.html - it provides great information on every single one.

There are 11 primary skills, and 3 secondary skills. You can only have two primary skills at a time, which are Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Herbalism, Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking, Mining, Tailoring, Skinning and Inscription. However you could potentially have 3 secondary skills which are Fishing, First Aid and Cooking. For more information visit http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/professions/index.html - it extensively elaborates on each and every skills.

Furthermore, there are ten races: Trolls, Night Elves, Gnomes, Dwarves, Humans, Orcs, Blood Elves, Draenei, Tauren, and Undead. Each race looks unique and is assigned to a faction; the Alliance or the Horde. The Alliance is composed of Humans, Gnomes, Dwarves, Night Elves, and Draenei. The Horde consists of Orcs, Blood Elves, Tauren, Trolls, and Undead.

Q: Which class is the best?
A: There is no 'best class'. Any class can be the greatest if someone uses it to the full potential.

Q: What's PvP like on WoW?
A:pvP generally is the two factions, Alliance and Horde against eachother. PvP can just be from random encounters from the opposite factions which are both flagged in PvP mode, or huge organized battles. PvP is usually dependent on what class you are, and what your opponent is the skill levels.

Q: Is the Alliance or Horde better?

A: It depends on your server. Your faction should be depended on what your friends play on that realm, because you cannot communicate or do any quests or dungeons with someone of the opposite faction and you are hostile to them. In some realms the Alliance can be much more skilled than the Horde and vice versa. It's up to you.

    Q:How do you level up?

A: Like almost all RPGs, in order to level up you must get XP. XP is obtained from: killing monsters, completing quests, participating in PvP, and doing dungeons and raids. Dungeons and raids are an event in which you must group with five or more people and complete a *usually* challenging and lengthy array of monsters and bosses. XP is mostly combat oriented.

What's the maximum level you can be?

The level caps sits at 80 currently. The time it takes depends if the person just screws around on WoW or not.

    Q: What's endgame like?

A: Endgame firstly, is gaming at level 80. An endgamer has many choices. For example, he/she can focus on PvP and acquire PvP items and participate in battlegrounds. Most people however, raid which is doing large dungeons with either 10 or 25 people. These dungeons can be extremely difficult and impossible for players with not good enough gear or skill. Before people usually partake in raids they will have to gear up with better equipment by doing Heroics. A heroic is an increased difficulty of a dungeon (for level 80s) which offer better drops.
